Wozzek23 you're constantly posting comments as if Evan's announced that Darksend has been discontinued and is no longer supported!

It's only the name that's changed, everything else remains the same.

AND.....Evan's made this extraordinary announcement that's been all but lost in all the negativity and extreme over reaction;

I closed my Masternode and sold / am selling all of my coins. I spread this sale over several exchanges not to influence the price drop / change. Now I will step back and see how this would develop.

IMHO - Evan has caved to the political pressure coming from a more conservative members of the Foundation. Compromises never excite me, for the key point of attack to Darkcoin would always be its main feature - almost perfect anonymity. As such Darkcoin is on a forefront of fight for our freedom and our right to privacy in this surveillance culture we have to endure.

Compromising a well established brand that could've been a real instrument of change with several merchants that "might" with "no guarantees" adopt Dashcoin or whatever the "brand" will be is a sign of intrinsic weakness I dislike.

The price was on the rise when I put the wall in at 0.01 and I think that it was well over one hour when there were no walls, anyway one hour is plenty of time to find the current lowest level I believe, TBH if I didn't put a wall in at 0.01 then I doubt it would make much difference now, the price over reacted to the news, but the walls are quite small compared to previously and don't have much of an impact on the price - they just follow it.

There were no walls for just one hour (which is barely enough for anyone not constantly monitoring the market to react) and in this brief time span the price was collapsing right until new walls were introduced.

BIG mistake

I still strongly believe in Darkcoin or Dash, or what ever its name, and this community.

I think someone who leave this will have a very big regret in next few years.

I highly doubt after feedback that it will be Dash - Evan will work with the community to brainstorm to gain consensus

With some people throwing tantrums and dumping coins, a cool head is needed in times like this and to not make rash decisions based on your emotions.

Cool down, step away for a while and assess the situation with a level head.

In the end it will all sort itself out and im sure for the best. To the people who sold, this may or may not have been the worst decision in your life

I personally think the sell off was an overreaction and we will be back up in $3.40-3.70 range within 2-3 days. At the end of the day what is in a name anyway? It is still the same coin with the same solid features. This is only part of marketing/rebranding which in my opinion has always been lacking with DRK so its good to see the Devs thinking along these lines too!

As has been said, I believe that this change will be for the best, after my wall was sold in to completely there were no walls at all for a considerable period of time during this controversy, I think that was some good free market price discovery of where today's natural floor would be in difficult conditions, the coins that were sold to me are now effectively removed from the open market and will join the masternode network in strengthening the coin, my present wall is 100 BTC @ 0.01 on Finex if anyone would like to exit a large position, it won't be removed or lowered, there's also 30 BTC worth of bids on Cryptsy at the same price.

Are they really as important as anonymity? (I'd rather call it privacy) I think you wish them to be "as important" in order to justify standing behind a decision (for it does feel like a decision) that has not been thought through.

What is being attacked regarding our human rights, on a scale never before seen in human history? PayPal transactions that are as instant as IX or our right to privacy, a feature that Darkcoin is protecting by making our transaction anonymous? And pray, if the product currently known as Darkcoin features, InstantX, obfuscation, DarkSend, anonymity and X, Y and Z features in the future, what brand would represent ALL of them?

Changing Darkcoin name would be a half-baked decision based on caving in to several services that "might" include the coin if it would be called differently. It reeks to heavens.

You guys are blaming vertoe for quitting, wtf? She was a major investor, a core dev, and the whole discussion was done behind her. And you do not understand why she is so upset. I mean, are you serious?
On one hand, she might not agree with a name change. But she is probably way more upset because of being left out of the conversation totally, and selectively some whales / foundatino members (wasn't she a foundation member as well?) were included.

Sure, you can say thanks for the cheap coins, have a good life, etc. But this all comes off arrogant. The coin WILL miss the input of the aforementioned people.

I am against the name change. But executed properly, we all would have accepted it to some degree. This was terrible. So many bright minds together, and this was the end result.

Please field test an idea first. Involve as many important people as possible. Make sure not to leave out key players.
Then comunicate clearly!!! I still do not know if we changed the name... Abnormal. Seriously, did we?


Oh, and about redistribution. Vertoe's 50k goes to the biggest whale who is around 10% of all coins now. And you call this redistribution.
I like Otoh, no offense, but we shouldn't be fanboyish. He alone can kill the market. This is an inherent risk with such a huge whale.
