That's the guide I used. Linux VPS and Windows local cold wallet. One thing I would point out is that there were people in that thread stating that if they closed their local wallet their masternodes would go offline. What I found to be causing this in my case was that after you start the masternode and close the local wallet, if you open the local wallet up again and close it the masternode goes offline. I noticed this after my masternode had been running fine for a couple hours and then was offline. I had reopened the Darkcoin wallet on the local machine and closed it. I tested this a couple times and the result was always the same. The masternode would go offline if I opened and closed the local wallet after it had been closed following entering the masternode commands in the console.
That is total BS. In over 6 months, that never happened to me, or anyone else. May my customers come and chime as well.
You're a sad example of a human being.
I don't give a damn what's happened to you or not. Maybe you should read this thread on darkcointalk. Or do you even know how?
https://darkcointalk.org/threads/drk-guide-rc3-masternode-windows-local-linux-remote-vultr.1367/Since you're obviously challenged in more ways than one I'll copy/paste the posts that describe exactly the situation I posted about along with how I was able to resolve it.
nice guide!
but i still got a problem
when i get the message from the local and the remote server that the hotcoldmasternode is enabled i shut down the local wallet....after that (round about 10minutes) my remote masternode goes offline because the lastseen value in the masternode checkpage gets bigger and bigger and finally gets kicked from the list.Hi icewood,
Same problem for me, no answer for now:
https://www.darkcointalk.org/thread...cro-ubuntu-for-masternode-part-2-3.241/page-7damn...
i got the same version and configs like you...and the when i keep the local wallet online, everything is fine...
i hope someone can help us to get the cold storage remote/local solution work...Hi, i followed your guide exactly, and the masternode is running, but as soon as i close the local wallet on windows, the remote masternode stops being listed. Any idea?Maybe not the same issue but with the lack of technical knowledge that many of the people running masternodes have I doubt that they are conveying all of the pertinent information or behaviour that is preceding their issues. It could very well be that they did the same thing that I did and opened and closed the local wallet after it had been closed after issuing the masternode start command in the console.
I didn't bother to read the rest of the thread to see if a solution was posted as I am very technically inclined and decided to troubleshoot on my own. And every time I opened up the local wallet after it had been closed after issuing the masternode start command my masternode would go offline once I closed the wallet again. Without that behaviour of reopening the wallet my masternode has been online for hours.
And for the record, masternodes have not been operating for six months so you can talk all you want about you and your customers but it's just more B.S. out of your ignorant mouth.
I was trying to help people avoid a headache and posted my actual hands on experience. If you don't want to believe that I know what I'm talking about then fine. But don't come on here calling me a liar just because your a butt hurt bagholder that's pissed I made a whole bunch of btc off of DRK the last couple of days.
There is a difference between me and you. I am objective, straightforward and to the point. You're a fanboy that dances around the facts that doesn't offer anybody anything except your ignorance.
