The hacker was nice enough to leave him some coin in exchange for the BTC.

maybe someone really bought accidentally the wrong coin? ^^
or must have taken some crazy shit

fuck it its 100btc  Smiley

That guy basically made himself a massive bag holder, there's barely enough buy orders for him to sell back 1 btc worth of what he bought. And the thread for MYC is not even on bitcointalk, its on a different site with only 9 replies to the thread. It would really be sad if that buy order was meant for DRK.

EDIT: There is is a thread for it on bitcointalk as well.

It can be renamed now as HisCoin  Cool

How drunk you have to be to buy 100btc of MYC? Painful mistake lol

LOL, it's clear that it was a hack.

What do you mean a hack? A hack generally involves stealing things, not buying...

The only logical connection i can make is someones accnt was compromised. They didn't know the users email to confirm the BTC withdrawl so they purchased a shit ton of MYC to have the funds in their accnt and withdraw that way.

That is the ONLY explanation i can come up with as to why anyone would purchase MYC.
This could be a continuation of the VRC hacking  Grin
They must have accumulated MYC first then spend the BTC they cannot withdraw  Grin Grin Grin

Has there been a new development on this front - what sparked that big 70+ BTC buy on Mintpal?

Etherium is basically just NXT with some homebrew scipting language built in that makes it easy to create apps that both the developer and the user have to go on paying to use, endlessly.

Thats one way to look at it.

Another way is that it could just blow everything to kingdom come because it completely liberates the transport layer from the functional layer.

DRK has done that to some extent with its masternode approach, but crypto is in its infancy. Everything thats gone up till now could just be little experiments for what ultimately goes mainstream.

Antennae need to be perked.

I bought some.  I may buy more.  Speculation is, after all, pure speculation.   I think the big buy-ins are over now, even though the sale goes on for another month (at an increasing price) i don't think you'll see the invested btc go beyond 15k

the reasons why people should avoid US companies is due to the NSA revelations and to similar stories of lavabit. Basically, if you run something that the US government does not want, they will go after you, which in this case would be to go after masternodes.

Lets not forget this: http://lavabit.com/

US based sure, but internationally ?
No way,
what you think these agent are gonna come to Hong Kong, Japan, Iceland, China, Russia ,..... and shut everybody down ?
NO WAY !
the NSA can play in their backyard as much as they want
internationally nobody gives a flying fuxx .....  Grin .....>>

Tell that to the Tanzanians...
