If this is to be a platform that's taken seriously and adopted by merchants, high net worth individuals, corporations and anyone else who values their privacy, let Evan and team take as much time as they need to test and perfect...

If you find a bug in testing vs after go-live, you're doing it right...

If its adopted and taken seriously by merchants or high net worth individuals, who are law-abiding, and presumably in first-world country - they will have a hard time defending the use of an anonymous currency, assuming of course that they are not outlawed in such places anyway.

Of course, by high net worth you may mean on the black-market, or other such places - which can also be true. But I guess that's a different market entirely.

Not to mention the fact that merchants and high net worth individuals have already adopted a cryptocurrency.  It's called Bitcoin.

Yes I didn't want to say it out loud because the Trolls and Authorities are going to use it as a smoking gun to tarnish the image of DRK.  But yes, because it's eCash it will be used by honest and dishonest parties just like cash is.

You'll probably find the initial wave of real investment is going to come from tech savvy cartels and high net worth individuals.  I can see the cartels doing their own independent code review before they start using the platform as a financial backbone.

If they aren't already watching, government agencies have everything to gain to ensure DRK is a resounding success.  In public and in front of the media, they will condemn crypto currencies like DRK, when in secret they will be glad to have an anonymous platform to fund all their covert activities around the world.

It will be a bit like the tobacco industry.  To win votes they condemn it and throw a few bones to various health organisations, when in secret smokers are considered excellent tax payers and the governments would be fucked without the money...

Then you're gonna have you're average Joe like you and me that's simply fed up with having every aspect of their lives monitored... DRK will be a breath of fresh air...

Spot on. Smiley

Does all this NSA bitcoin surveillance mean that coins linked to Satoshi are effectively moribund?

Looks like the market is finally waking up and moving to Cryptonote coins, took a while.
Transacting with any of them takes forever too!  Grin

Darkcoin's high liquidity cousin - Ducknote - performing superbly.

Looks like a pump&dump to me. XDN offers nothing better than XMR, what is the reason of rising price?
In all Bytecoin clones, QCN looks best for me with superb dev. Or even more advance: BBR.

Q: How many years does it take for the XMR 'devs' to produce a GUI?
A:  Huh Roll Eyes Tongue

Plus Ducknote has Bruce Lee on their website!

Take the truncheon out of your bottom and stand back up! Has anyone had a hard time defending the use of cash?

Heh, I just checked Poloniex and noticed they've dumped LTC for a bunch of XMR markets - wonder how much that cost and who paid for it...  Tongue

I've suspected a lot of fake XMR trading volume on that exchange for a while now... It's obviously a coin they "endorse"...

Hey everyone,

I'm pleased to announce that my project team and I have decided on the final design of the new Darkcoin wallet software and UI. The new Darkcoin wallet will look like this:

Light/White Skin

Dark/Blue Skin

You'll be able to choose your desired skin/theme and modify colors to your liking. We may support custom layouts in the future as well, but for now we must focus on functionality and completing the work in a timely fashion.  Smiley

You can view yesterday's status report on the wallet overhaul at DarkcoinTalk.org...

I'd also like to mention that raze and Minotaur volunteered to do this work for the project and community. They took time out of their own lives to do it, and they aren't being paid for it. They've put a lot of time and effort into it, and deserve our appreciation and thanks! If you enjoy using Darkcoin software and like the progress and work you're seeing, it would be very kind and encouraging to tip these gentlemen a little DRK for their hard work and dedication!

I generally don't solicit tips for myself, but I do accept them:

Forget software development, I get the impression that a lot of people commenting don't have any coding experience at all.

It doesn't matter if it is finished tomorrow, the end of the month, or sometime in August as we know what the plan is -- and the progress towards implementing/testing said plan is public. I mean, do people want buggy code open-sourced?  If there is some major exploit in Darksend and coins are stolen after the final release DRK is finished -- given that possibility, I'd much rather let Evan and the other devs do their due diligence.

Precisely...

If this is to be a platform that's taken seriously and adopted by merchants, high net worth individuals, corporations and anyone else who values their privacy, let Evan and team take as much time as they need to test and perfect...

right guys as rc4 is nearing an end and hopefully all goes well, drk will become the only true anon coin.
I feel we should have a two pronged media campaign

1- we should start preparing adverts, posters, videos etc ,lets  promote what drk does that no other coin can do.
2- we should raise awareness of btc flaws like how easy your btc address can show your balance to the world and soon link it to your ip address. its like have your bank balance on display for everyone to see with your postcode below. But do it nicely ,we dont want make btc look bad,lol

we should only use 100% facts to prevent troll attacks.
If we start now we can have somethings ready for people who hold drk to use to pass on the message...that drk is the ultimate coin. ;-)

Let me pretty up the thread again.  Grin

Maybe I suck, but let's see what you can do before you start bitchin' Wink

You don't suck lonecrouton; you're putting ideas forward and that's great.

Can you tell me though, on your 3rd image where you're saying DarkCoin is private, Bitcoin is not, you have a pile of gold bars on the right but what is that supposed to be on the left with the question mark over it?

Heh, I just checked Poloniex and noticed they've dumped LTC for a bunch of XMR markets - wonder how much that cost and who paid for it...  Tongue

And BitTrex will remove LTC markets and replace them with BlackCoin:

http://www.cryptoarticles.com/crypto-news/bittrex-to-remove-litecoin-trading-markets-replace-them-withblackcoin

So who is paying for this stunt  Shocked Funny to see LTC markets going away from exchanges gradually.

Time is ripe for Mintpal or Cryptsy to create a DRK market  Cool Grin Let Jason@Mintpal hear it Smiley
