Just posted this on my pool news page:

To compensate latest website unavailability due to DDoS attack I decided to make following changes:

- fee is removed completely (0% now)!
- payouts after only 10 confirmations!

Come and join https://www2.coinmine.pl/drk/

feeleep

We are waiting for new miners!

I think your pool difficulty is too high for small miners feeleep.
You used to have a lower diff one, but now they're all the same 0.015
Am I seeing something wrong?

good point - thanks!

I opened new port 16090 for low hashrate users:

Code:
minerd -a X11 -o stratum+tcp://drk.coinmine.pl:16090 -u username.workername -p worker_pass

feeleep

define low hashrate please, up to how many khs

if you are sending less than 5 shares per minute on normal port you should switch to new one

Try to mine with p2pool.

...and then RC2 comes along and breaks it. Sad

He will change then, but now seems to me like a better choice than solo mining.

The Future Of Work
Can someone help me understand what makes darksend so special, and why it's more untraceable that darkwallet?

Nice first post. LOL

Don't mock questions like this, it makes it look like we're either ignorant of the answer or hiding something.

Frankly this exact question should be answered in detail for every Darkcoin competitor, and the answers displayed somewhere prominent.  coins101's FAQ thread, for example.

We do need to make a FAQ section for the website!

this question has come up a few times today. So I guess that makes it a FAQ  Grin

will add it in tomorrow.

Nice first post. LOL but to kill your spam quickly:

I want to clear up some facts which I'm seeing propagated around this community about the CoinJoin trustless mixing used in Dark Wallet.

Dark Wallet coinjoin goes through a server, but the server cannot see any details of your transaction nor can they steal your coins. All details are encrypted for the counterparty, and all signing happens in the client.

The only weakness here is that a server gets taken down stopping the service in which case you switch to another service. Even if the NSA controlled the server, they wouldn't be able to steal your coins or observe your transaction at all.

Lastly the server is sharing messages with other servers (we are improving this too), so it isn't really centralised. It is federated kind of like how different email providers inter-operate with each other. The decentralised aspect will only improve over time as we develop standards and deploy technology.

More info: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6526623

DW dev

It is centralized or it is not. Like being pregnant. You cannot be a little bit pregnant. Dark Wallet, although I believe it can be a great tool, is still centralized. You have to trust a 3rd party somehow. DarkCoin is decentralized.

Well, I don't know .... I mean, if I had twins or triplets, I think I'd start seeing singles as being a little bit pregos.....  Grin  Cheesy  Grin

Is this all the techies around here have to say about that? As an investor, I`d like to know more about it (true, not true, partially true etc), because it adresses the supposed "unique selling proposition" of Darkcoin.

Personally, I don't know.  I can understand how DarkSend works, I know why it works.  But starting out with the fact that DarkWallet is a plugin to a browser puts me off, rightly or wrongly.  Then, what this gentleman calls "federated" = centralized to me.  Also, I see so much incredible potential with the way Darkcoin is structured for future developments and services.  But Bitcoin really needs something, so I'm glad they have DarkWallet.  I just wish the developers wouldn't be so vulgar about it being only for nefarious purposes.  I doubt, at least when crypto currencies become more main stream, that more than 10% or what ever percentage of cash is used in crime will be used in cyber crime.  The rest of us just want our privacy.

My thoughts are if the original Bitcoin protocol went through central (or federated) servers, it wouldn't have been so successful. It's revolutionary because it's decentralized. So why is an anonymity solution which passes Bitcoin transactions through central servers a good move? It's like putting a fancy coat on a cat to keep it warm. They're going to tear it off in the end. Anonymity should be built into the protocol IMO.

My DIY multipool system of mining another coin and buying drk is bloody hard work. been buying 2 DRK here, 0.9 DRK there.

So, its beer o'clock.

I'm giving the x11 port on the BlackCoin MultiPool a crack, based on estimates it should allow me to accumulate twice the amount of DRK... They are mining Badger at the moment...

So:

* Go to blackcoin and download a wallet
* Mine x11 via the blackcoin multipool with 2% fee
* Mine x11 coins, such as darkcoin
* Blackcoin pushes up darkcoin difficulty
* They dump darkcoins putting downward pressure on the value of the coins I already have
* They buy blackcoins putting upward pressure on Blackcoins
* I get some blackcoins
* Sell the blackcoins and pay the exchange fee
* Buy darkcoin and pay the exchange fee to get them into my wallet

As its only my second day on this planet, did I miss anything, other than they may not mine darkcoin all the time?

The probably don't mine DRK as it's an very unprofitable coin to mine at the moment.

If you want too, you can skip one step and mine at some BTC multipool like waffle.
Instead of: randomaltcoin -> btc -> blk -> btc -> drk it would be randomaltcoin-> btc-> drk, so you skip a few steps there...

mine darkcoin because 1) you keep the difficulty high to keep dumpers away 2) secure block chain 3) get closer to the 22 million coin cap

actually we won't get closer to the cap because the blockreward is getting lower with higher diff. But I think you will lower the coincap which is only estimated to be 22 mill. If the Hashrate will rise stronger than predicted there will be less than 22 mill coins. At least that was my understanding

So with mining you essentially increase the worth of your coins you hold so far! Because with your hashrate you decrease the total number of minted coins slightly

I hope I don't got it wrong^^ But if it doesn't work that way, we should do it that way Cheesy
