Personally I think BC is pumped as a laundry for hacked BTCs.

Yeah, sure 5558 BTC, >10 times the BTC/LTC volume. Ok. Someone had a couple thousands BTCs around and said yeah let's throw them on blackcoin...

My guess is that most of these BTCs of the last few days (let's call him primary buyer) are probably "problematic" to cash out for the "owner" and is thus pumping or even trying to buy an altcoin... but not any altcoin: BC which is also prone to 51% monopoly advantage for the owner (!) - lol. But it would be somewhat irrational if the 51% controller undermined the network as he would lose himself through a blow to the currency's reliability. Unless he doesn't care.

The buying pattern is irrational with no serious periods of adjustments to buy back more for cheaper by panicking "oh it's gonna fall soon" guys...  and I kind of remember our own pump to 0.008 that exhibited similar irrational behavior, and it had ...330 stolen BTCs. You just don't spend thousands of BTCs like no tomorrow if you've earned them with mining, trading, investing etc or if you bought them with fiat, knowing full well that you are creating a bubble that you will be unable to dump to other parties. It's a sure loss (unless you know the future and it's ...BLACK )

The whole issue about being faster is being taken away by payment processors. That is where the main sticking point is.

They are now starting to process customer payments instantly. The waiting time becomes a back-end issue. So speed is not really that attractive.

Bitcoin's main problem is scale. It will soon reach capacity and miners will be able to charge a sliding fee scale to process transactions quicker than others. Like charging for internet bandwidth to get your video content into homes at peak times.

Isn't the pure POS faster? It's basically very energy efficient while being very fast and secure. Immune to 51% attacks etc. Or am I wrong? I don't mean that the current valuation is justified, simply that it's not a bad coin at all imo.

People pump BC because of speculation, not because any real value/use, and people keep buying just because they don't want to miss it, just in case.... until dump starts. Once a few big whales dump at once, people will panic, and the coin will recover from some of those panic dumps, until the hype is not enough to keep it up.

Coins without a real reason for existence end up dying, and BC doesn't have any real life feature, just speculation.

Paging Chaositec! I really want to know how it works for POW though, because for DRK it's weird, if people mine the multipool instead of the actual DRK pools, hashrate goes down and reward goes up... which means DRK becomes the most profitable to mine again or something... where's the balance?

Haven't been able to get over 13xx kH/ps with my 270's no matter what I've tried. Then again, I haven't bothered messing with the voltages, I've heard of people increasing the voltage cap in the bios and OC'ing them quite a bit. You'd need good cooling though.

I think a multipool that auto-sells for DRK would be perfect, it'd save me a job anyway . And it would do wonders for the price I'm sure, which right now is just too stable for my liking (which isn't a bad thing though!)

I was thinking the same.  After seeing what the blackcoin multipool has done to the value and interest in BC.  It has adds so much buying pressure it bumps the value so much.

I see no reason why it wouldn't work for DRK or POW coins.  There are multipools for BTC, which is POW.

It just mines other coins, and sells them, and buys up all the DRK.  Easy.

It would actually make perfect sense for DRK, as it's so bloody hard to mine right now, people could multipool mine it, and get a bunch of coins.  It would buy up all the cheapest DRK coins, time and time again, bumping the price.

Now who's smart. Go make a DRK multipool! haha.

Also, it's not so easy to integrate into another coin.  Easiest thing to do is to clone it outright when it's finished, but then if you have a developer that doesn't know how to fix possible issues, your coin is sunk.  So this won't necessarily be easy to clone and keep alive either
