what in the fuck is going on today? BTC is bubbling up insanely to 700. Aurora is 65 dollars. Am I dead?

I think the old addage "Be greedy when others are fearful, and fearful when others are greedy" applies today.  I am buying DRK.

Sit tight, holders.

Auroracoinscam will soon to coming to a crashing hault (it's already being deemed illegal by the government), so we should be getting the mining and pricing attention we deserve soon.

Oh I am.

I have been quietly buying since 0.012.  I bought up to 0.019 and am buying on the way down.  I think once AUR crashes, the money will flow back in so I am trying to get the cheap DRKs while I can.

This is too innovative to not catch on once word gets out.

Oh  come on SlyA, you know the crypto market is extremely unstable.  I hope you're just having fun?  If it's upsetting you, seriously, it's going to be this way for a really long time until the crypto coins are more accepted.  Just like the stock market in the 20's.  And even the stock market goes "crazy" sometimes, albeit with proportionately far less flux.

People running to BTC (and probably other hedges/alternate investments) due to stock markets and oil prices going screwey because of Russia/Ukraine would be my guess.

So basically crypto has become the villified hero? How poetic.

edit: The Ruble is also taking a beating against the dollar today, presumably because of the threat of major economic sanctions against Russia by pretty much the whole world, so a lot of Russians may be hedging with BTC.

We have our first official intended copycat. One of the first useless clones in the ALT game, franko.

I was genuinely curious what's different about franko so I asked the dev on reddit. Here's the answer and yes after I may have been an ass, I don't really care.

Basically he is taking features and adding them as the real innovators make them up in hope of his coin not doing.

Then I saw this on twitter and realized closed source at first is a good thing. He even wants to rename Darksend to fit his shitcoin.

Franko is below 'Junkcoin' 'Grumpycoin' and 'Flappycoin. , It's going down 14.59% today while 99% of others alts are way in the green because BTC is rising. Your coin is dead, and adding features from other coins as defibrillator blasts won't help it. Flatline.

P.S. props to that @bodskibod for thinking it's called Dark's End. You're smart.

I really can't manage to have stable mining with my 290: started at 2.4, and 30 min later I'm at 2.1 with memory switching between 1500 and 150mhs.
It does this with all my cards, someone fixed this with a bios modification or custom memory tweak?

Are you undervolting your cards?  I had mine undervolted for mining scrypt, but with X11 (Darkcoin) the undervolting caused my cards to be unstable.  Undervolding isn't needed either as they run much cooler anyhow.
No Im' not, since I can't edit the 290 bios.
After each test I got the same conclusion: I reboot and got a 2.5 hash, then 10 minutes later it falls to 2.3. No matter the parameters, I got a 0.2 drop of the hashrate after 10 minutes. The only way to get them back is to reboot my computer (not relaunching the miner).
It's 9% of the Hashrate that is lost...I'll be glad to do something with it...

This should go without saying, but I feel compelled to say it.  Beware of 3rd party apps.  They can easily contain Trojans and other malware.  It's probably best not to use anything until trusted community members have looked over the code and verified it as safe.

Even our beta code, I would keep a separate wallet with just a few coins in it to try out the darksend with.  Just as a principle (it's closed source until finished) and because it's beta.  I'm happy to help out testing the beta, but will be cautious with how much I'm moving around.

I'm not advertising for them in anyway. Just thought it was cool they accept DRK.

Cant see any DarkSend button, what am I missing?

The button is in another window, the send window/tab  It's a checkmark box defaulted to use darksend

Why https://www2.coinmine.pl/drk/ pool is not listed in OP?

Yes, as been said, they are very popular, and probably with good reason, but it's not healthy for one entity to have more than 50% of the hash, so it was removed.... for now.  I'm sure we're all glad this pool owner is with us, but people are not self regulating yet.

Can't mine this Sad

sph-sgminer (v4.1.0) is missing zlib1.dll
sgminer says -a is an unrecognized option. If i delete "-a X11" all my shares are rejected (share above target)

You just need the zlib1.dll in your sgminer folder (same location as the exe).  Be CAREFUL where you get it though, get it from github, or some trusted source.  It's a big .dll for inserting malware!

Sit tight, holders.

Auroracoinscam will soon to coming to a crashing hault (it's already being deemed illegal by the government), so we should be getting the mining and pricing attention we deserve soon.

please don't bring this to our thread.  I'm sure the developers and most of us wish them luck.  Also, it is false to say that Auroracoin is illegal in Iceland.  They have had and economic meltdown and have made it illegal for their currency to leave the country, so buying crypto from outside the country is illegal.  Big difference.

what is the thing that makes my cards running like 20 Celsius colder? why cant every coin use this?

it's the algorithm, not the miner.  It won't help other coins.

have a look at the watt at your wall
for me DRK-mining only uses 60 - 70 % of the power-comsumption of the standard scrypt-mining with both at full load -> core + mem
it's really fabulous for my rigs - the cards are running from 45 to 55 °C with ~ 70 % fan-speed
70% fan speed.LOL. My cards are at 1000-1300RPM, temps <60 C, you dont need 70% fan-speed at those temps.
do you have a little mining-farm with let me just suggest 60 gpu - like one or the other here has to go?

i'm not talking about my person Wink

or do you let one or two tremendous cards running in your standalone rig on a cool balkony?
