Regarding name and public.

Me: I'm mining a new coin now called darkcoin
Mom: darkcoin? That sounds scary
Me: lol, why?
Mom: I don't know, just does

on the other hand we should also enlighten the none public perspectives.

so what of what public/society thinks - are they even using crypto ?? not really, no. ergo it's for us cryptsies.. and boy do we love anonymity? do we maybe also prefer it over BTC-transparency ? I think so.

so if the public were to use DRK? you can send it with stealth or without and I think this is a good point to really argue to the public.
It doesn't need to be dark but can be for those who wants, and therefor not really affecting anything in the bigger picture, just in favor for DRK.

Regarding the title:

[ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin (DarkSend) | KGW | No Premine

At this point in cryptocurrency, it is not necessary to state, "KGW" in the title as all new cryptos are expected to have it.  Just state it in the opening post.  In addition, Darkcoin is old enough now that we don't need to mention that there was no premine in the title.  Just state that in the first post as well.

Keep it simple:

[ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin (DarkSend)

or

[ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | World's First Anonymous Coin (DarkSend)

World's First Completely Anonymous Coin
or
World's First Truly Anonymous Coin

Lotterymining.com is ddos protected, stop wasting your time again!

Is that what happened?  I had some of my miners start getting a stratum receive error and wouldn't connect.  They could connect to other pools though. I had to move them.

i think the miners got trapped in the mitigation of the ddos attack...

It was only some of them though so I didn't think it was ddos.  Tried to send a message through your support but it didn't function.

Its not like news media will pick up this coin and immediately label it a coin for drug purchase. They will first state its feature of anonymity and if in a debate setting, will then talk about the POSSIBLE uses of the coin.

Are you being sarcastic? News does not report anything but sensationalist bullshit.
Mexican drug smuggling tunnels - could bring nukes or terrorists into the country.
Silk Road. Killed a teenager says his father (here in Australia) b/c "SR are resposnsible he fell off 6th story balcony when his friends locked him out thjere b/c he was tripping balls ... But yes, Silk Road, and uh, him the LSD tab which is made of a chemical not LSD. War on Drugs!
Bitcoin was nothing but seedy as can be until SR was closed down then BTC went from $100 - $100 in 42 days.

DARKCOIN.
I like it personally as a name. But media will associate with darknet and drugs etc...

But DRK could just be a
Digitally
Rendered
Keepsake too...

which we happen to trade?

Oh my goodness. Lay off the conspiracy puzzles at the back of your cereal box mate. The news does report sensationalist bullshit but for you to say that they will report Dark coin like that is an extremely laughable if not tin foil sentiment.

I think this coin will have a tremendous market either case, since this is a new piece of technology. But come on, it wont be the new world-wide currency.

If it can be successfully marketed as digital cash, it might just be.
I suppose it's not impossible, but I mean, then we're talking 10 times bitcoins marketcap (if not more), and if so - I'm a fcking billionare Cheesy
I keep my hopes high, but not that high! Tongue

I think the name Darkcoin is awesome and stands out, and regarding possible media sentiment, as Winston Churchill said -
"History will be kind to me for I intend to write it."  Smiley

Darkcoin's case is a little different. We're going to face an uphill battle for public acceptance. We're going to be smeared by the media. People are not going to be generous and look for positive interpretations of the name. Every other news article is going to mention the possibility / reality of illicit activities conducted under the cloak of darksend. The public will form their opinion on us based on the name alone. Essentially, anything ambiguously dark & shady in our branding puts us on the back foot with these challenges.

You just described Bitcoin and look how successful it has been. Even the collapse and disappearance of 800K coins hasn't hurt it much, just lowered the price enough for people to buy in.
What heppened to 800k coins

Mt. Gox coins 'disappeared'.

I think the main point of distinction is this: Darkcoin might be a good name in a lot of ways, but good for whom?

Good for early investors looking for a coin that distinguishes itself from the rest of the clonecoins?

Good for vendors who are concerned about their image?

Good for your mother or your non-techy friend doing their online shopping in 2 years?

Which of these are the bigger market in the long run?
