Can someone explain the ASIC-resistance of DRK? Others use increased memory requirements relative to scrypt. Where does DRK's resistance come from? It uses multiple hashing functions but why can't an ASIC that performs all of them be built? How long will this resistance last?
first of, if you look back on how long it took for asics to take off, with bitcoins
the thing is to implement an algoryth onto silicon takes time, with lots of testing tomake sure everything is working correctly,
therefor, to implement 11 different ones takes even long erime, plus you have to make sure each one behaves correctly when bundled together,
and, that uses even more silicon estate, so more expensive to develope
