Updated with the version 1.3 of minerd.. It s working on amazon.

If you succeed to connect to your instance via putty just follow those step :

sudo apt-get update

The one thing that is giving me fits is having a .sh script start right after re/boot. I tried using

#!/bin/bash
cd ~
./wnc.sh

in the user data (kind of a cloud sript, I guess) but it seems to work intermittently. I know there is some way to tie in to init.d, but my attempts have not worked.

call it from /etc/rc.local

Try this: Open an instance of drk sgminer and another of an scrypt cgminer of some other coin and then play around with their intensities to prioritize the hashrate (and by extension control the temps higher).

I think for cryptocurrencies in general it would be a huge benefit (both environmentally and allowing a more diverse group of people to mine it) to have an algorithm that is setup in a way that is so inefficient that it doesnt allow a GPU to run at 100% heat output all the time while still achieving maximum performance for the given task at hand.

I LOVE how cool the cards run for GPU mining with x11. I honestly feel it WILL be a game changer for those considering whether to mine or not come summer time.
