I LOVE this coin.  The coin name, the coin design, the devs, and the community!

I feel this coin is really going places, and it already is!

I have seen coins die when they implemented the gravity well, this went VERY smoothly with this coin, well done there!

The BIG selling point as suck for this coin the the Anonymous features.  One this is done and up, the coin can only go up!

One thing though,  I feel we need to get this coin established as THE Anonymous coin, before you make it open source, or another coin with even more PR / hype etc could just come up, OR another established coin could turn Anonymous ?...  Just my 2 DarkCoins Wink

Agreed!

Is it completely impossible to eliminate the possibility for GPU mining?

Yeah, GPU miners rape coins and dump them. Look at what is happening to UTC at the moment. I bought in with the hopes of a surge only to have miners dump the coin to hell.

Even with GPUs coming the gravity well will keep them from raping this coin.

Haha true. I just got a bit miffed remembering when Moby Dick breached the mining surface a few days back, forcing us to man the kimotot harpoons. That was quite a day.

Guess I'm going to have to buy a GPU, anybody know what the best card is for the money right now?  Can't afford an R9.

R9 270x are still worth it, just shop around and stay away from newegg.

I've got one 270x in my rig.  It hashes at around 470-480kh/s (scrypt).  24000 tc 1120 core 1500 memory i19

What're you guys currently mining on? I'm on a AMD FX 8-Core right now, but getting only around 180-200 KH/s.

Intel Core i5-3570K, around 270kh/s

As far as I understand, once GPU mining is active it will instantly kill CPU mining and the majority would leave. The result is that mining gets more centralized - again, those who own GPU farms would rule. I don't see any advantages for the coin itself in this scenario.

Whats wrong with that?

Somewhere on the forum were some posts regarding disadvantages of ASIC mining for Bitcoin. The same applies to GPU mining as it is more specialized and hashing power would be more concentrated. I hope someone would help me to identify these disadvantages as I kept only a feeling that such concentration is wrong.

It all depends on the degree of acceleration and profitability of GPUs in doing DRK or something else plus the watt/performance formula. 2 MHash for a 290 is not much and it could be more profitable to mine, say, dogecoins with it. We'll have to wait and see.

Im using the same processor, getting around 350 khash, you might be using the older miner software.

Thanks for the reply. Hmm, I'm using the one posted on the first page of the thread. Could you link me to the one you're using if it is a newer release? Thanks!

I cant go through this whole thread. Is the innovation of anonymity coming along ok?

Whats the schedule for its implementation?

From what I gather from this thread is that there's been a successful 'proof of concept' and 'alpha' test and someone said the dev(s) are "very close to putting out a beta for the test network."  But that's just what I've been told by someone in the thread I have no idea how trustworthy they are.

How many Devs are working on this?  Is it just the 1?

I add this to my suggestions along with my initial pitchdark. the chain suffix is very recognizable for cryptocurrencies whilst maintaining the darkcoin brand.

Nice... maybe we can also get a mascot-style cloaked guy emerging from the darkness or something... Cool
