The market for this level of privacy in infinitesimally small.  Let's leave it to XMR, ZCash and the hordes of wannabees.

In seven years BTC has garnered a very small number of users.  The primary reason is its difficulty.

Here's an interesting article on the computer skills of the general population:

https://www.nngroup.com/articles/computer-skill-levels/

This is why Evolution is the only path to the big dream of cryptocurrency.

interesting article, thanks.  It illustrates the problem we are trying to solve with Evolution, to give trustless/decentralized access to digital cash for non-technical users, e.g. level 1-2 users on that bar-chart, without having to leave their comfort zone in terms of understanding complex concepts or installing complex software and obviously not using any proxy / intermediary / permissioned service to do that.  I would guess 99% of regular Bitcoin/Dash users are level 3 already but that group is only 5-8% of total potential users that have access to anything usable right now.

New Dash slack chat. Here you can meet developers and ask any kind of questions. Also deep technical support is possible in separate chat.

https://digitalcash24.herokuapp.com/

Welcome!
***
P.S.: this slack chat is open parallel to "Dash Nation" chat and we are not fighting - collaborating.

True. Dash Nation Slack is getting off to a great start with good conversation and a great mod team. Dashbot integration will be coming soon. Make your way there when you have a minute:

http://dash-nation-invite.herokuapp.com/

Good luck with yours as well, Melnik.

Cheers,

Tao.

I'm still seeing new members joining the old slack which has turned very negative and dark the last several weeks.

Want more Dash info or help with problems? Join the 2 new slack channels above or visit the Official Dash forum and other links in my sig!

The Dash nation slack has become the most active slack and new members are joining daily. Amanda was also showing the DN slack on the last episode of Dash Detailed and provided the invitation link.

For a while i was trying to keep up with all the slacks (3+?) but have given up the last several days and quit checking the other slacks. I needed to simplify things so i'm pretty much just at DN slack now but will check in on the others from time to time.
I suggest everyone join both of the above slacks though, as It's important that we have two good slacks, just incase tao gets hit by a bus or run over by a fluffypony! Grin

DashForce tips are flying all over the place in the Dash nation slack. Sign up and join in on the fun. #DashForce

a bump for Icebucket

Thx bud, has anyone gone through all of the 100 pages ?.. whats your/or anyones take on it ?

He talks an awful lot of TOR, there are 4000+ MN servers online right now waiting to be of use in this 007 spy world of ours.. People will be wanting high speed TOR soon.. Dash needs to step up with a dedicated dev team to just attend that project, earning maybe extra income for MN owners who want to partake in that adventure.

That would be a easy sell to the MN owners, them getting extra pay for running extra service on much better servers .. Wink Wink devs
That would also be great for the network as a whole if there were a bunch of MNs are running on top tier servers

Win Win  Cheesy

Maybe in the future there will be a Dash bundle on the table,
VPN/TOR browser with proton mail built in and a dash wallet with quick checkout feature.

I included Dash in my list of the best cryptocurrency investments for 2017

http://cryptorials.io/best-cryptocurrency-investments-2017/

« …although controversial in that it is dominated by a small number of large ‘whales’ who control most of the coins… »

Where's the proof?
No need for proof, a whale is someone with considerably more money than the average Joe, 8500$ for one node is out of reach for most Joes out there with 6 mouths to feed,
so there is a school of whales at least 4000 (relativity small number compared to bigger ones) spread across the world .. That could make them a type of endangered whale species by some standards. .
But Im certain it will be a big hazzle for them to reproduce, with all of the anonymity and whatnot  Roll Eyes

Edit: the new MSG feature could tho save the species  Grin

Besides dont worry about that guy @dafdaf, he thinks Zcash will bottom at 50$ .. with only miners/AKA sellers and no real current use or acceptance it is pretty clear it will go under 10 or more likely 2$ in the next year.

VI. CONCLUSION AND FORECAST

The proposed solution closes the continuously rising security gap most people are exposed to while
working with cryptocurrencies and computers at all. This is achieved by the usage of carefully selected
software, a dedicated step-by-step guide build on top of a security-privacy-centric approach and the
compilation of lots of additional background information for further studying.

The main benefits are the use of free and open-source software. There is no need to work with and
thereby trust closed-source software with also a price tag attached just like Microsoft Windows or Mac
OS X, etc. Because the solution is based entirely on Debian GNU/Linux, a free Linux distribution and
other free and open-source software which are all actively developed and reviewed by the research
community distributed all over the planet.

In addition to the privacy features already implemented in the DASH cryptocurrency, the user will be
anonymous online which is an important fact (if additional important security rules such as not
providing personal information, etc. are satisfied continuously) in terms of anonymizing network traffic
over Tor protecting against traffic analysis. This is guaranteed as long as the user works with Whonix
and Tails which are pre-configured to connect to the Internet over Tor exclusively. Therefore data leaks
such as “user is connecting to the DASH network at date X, time Y and building connections with
DASH nodes K, L, M, ...” caused by very different reasons leading to fundamental violation of privacy
are reduced drastically. From now on the DASH software can be utilized anonymously because the user
even hides the fact that he/she is using the DASH software behind Whonix which routes all network
traffic over Tor. In NOT doing so it is obvious to an adversary to figure out very easily what websites
the user visits on a regular basis, which programs on the target's machine interact with the Internet and
more generally speaking in what the user is interested in at all over long time periods. Gathering all this
information together can be used to de-anonymize and to target a specific user very easily.

The new MN will help to further stabilize, increase the security, increase the decentralization and
expand the two-tier DASH MN network.

Quote

This guide does not provide sufficient information about the setup of a Masternode (MN) server itself,
for further information refer to the Dash Forum [https://www.dash.org/forum/topic/masternode-
guides.66/]. Anyway the result is an additional MN in the two-tier DASH MN network by outsourcing
the setup of a secure remote Linux server to a skilled third party, called the Masternode-service-
provider (MNSP).

The main part of this guide describes the download and verification process of all necessary files and
consequently the setup of a secure and private OS in order to store the 1000 DASH deposit for the new
MN in a reasonably secure environment.

In addition the solution is not limited to the setup of a DASH MN local wallet exclusively. It is also
designed for a standard DASH local wallet setup (with no intention to setup a MN at all) or any other
cryptocurrency supporting the proposed solution.

This security paper will need a lot of evaluation and discussion from the community i think, so please discuss  Tongue

UK legalizes Spying on Internet users in UK  Shocked

House of Lords passed the Investigatory Powers Act, or Snoopers Charter, the new law gives UK intelligence agencies and police the most sweeping surveillance powers in the western world.
Wooppey! Finally it is legal for UK government to spy on British internet users.

There was some talk a while back to integrate TOR tech into master-nodes, and make Dash TOR browser. Was that scraped ?

What is the chances of getting some of these features included with Dash in the future? This is what the Gulden developers released yesterday.

https://developer.gulden.com/blog

It was our 'tech officer' who pointed out to me -- ages ago -- just how rudimentary most desktop crypto wallets are. I'm looking forward -- I'm a techno klutz -- to working with some much more advanced wallets as things progress.

+1. Good features there.
