Can someone tell me how to configurate the files to start mining? Noobs are being left out i feel.

Yeah, it will be hard to achive airdump final step for some people, I even start to doubt that it will be possible to get cheap coins at very beginning. Cry

Here https://forum.decred.org/threads/public-testnet-binaries-source-code-and-documentation.334/ you can get all useful information on how to start.

They only put commands which i don't get. I need someone to walk me through it from the start.

what equipment and software are you getting ready to use?
for example i have
amd r9-280x, + supporting driver and sdk, and wolf0's miner, win7

On what date I can claim my airdrop coins?

It has been stated several times in the thread that mainnet will launch approximately 1 week after testnet depending if any issues arise...Testnet launched today by the way.

Which means you may claim and dump your airdrop coins approximately 1 week from now if an exchange is available on day one.

thanks for the good news I am waiting Decred Smiley

Any ETA for testnet launch and daemon sources? I can't read whole thread, no info on OP.

Testnet is live. You can read the announcement here. OP will be updated now. All testnet releases are in signed binary form right now - so run in a VM for the security conscious. All source code will be made free and open-source close to the launch of mainnet. As stated elsewhere, but repeated here for visibility (things do get buried), mainnet will be launched 1 week from testnet - so on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016. This of course depends on testnet and if no serious bugs are found, the schedule will stick. More information will be posted as it comes in. I'll make sure to update people on all the platforms.

It was only the wind.
I have compiled the stock Decred CGMiner for Win64 (okay, not stock, I patched it otherwise it wouldn't have cross-built at all) and zipped it up for Windows users.

The package contains the cgminer.exe binary (stripped), blake256.cl, a readme from yours truly, the official README file, and the patch containing every modification I did that allowed it to build.

The patch is against https://github.com/decred/cgminer - of the branch 3.7 (which is currently the default) - commit d7751bbc31f68edfc1af61a9b36fd879f440a277.

This package is also signed by me, and inside you can find a list of many places that have my GPG key ID and fingerprint for cross-checking, as well as places you can get the public key itself for verification. Plus it comes from my official site, but still, were it ever compromised, you would be protected against someone planting a malicious binary in its place by verifying that I signed the package you download from there.

Anyways, I didn't actually test this binary - I cross built it - so do please report back on how it works. Without further ado:

EDIT:

P.S. It doesn't rely on ANY DLLs except those that come with Windows, including the Cygwin bullshit. If it does, please report this to me, as it is a bug, IMO.

Seeing as my first patch to their CGMiner for build fixes was an absolutely horrid hack, I'll be submitting a PR for a FAR better one. If you're interested in trying now, it's here:

It is apparently a test net release, so you have time to get it figured out.  Grin
