Hello,

The source of attacks on CryptoAve has now been identified. The vulnerabilities created by the heartbleed bug are exactly what was exploited in an attempt to steal user funds.

CryptoAve itself has never been compromised and it is likely that development will speed up now that we no longer have to worry about solving an exploit that never existed in our code.

The exchange will be back soon. We will have a stronger infrastructure and bank level security.

In closing: CryptoAve was never compromised, it was shut down as a precaution and to strengthen defences. We now know the bug that was causing issues is due to the OpenSSL bug and not any of the code or programming language.

Yeah nice find and good work getting the exchange offline so quickly to protect against this exploit. Thanks for all the hard work following this up. Better to be safe than sorry. Looking forward to CAve being back up!

any news?

Not as yet. I thought DGC V2 Core update was due for release any day now tho.

EDIT: Apparently the 2.0 core update is on hold pending more evaluation on the algorithm before it gets released. See Baritus post here:

http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.php/topic,965.msg6967.html#msg6967

CryptoAve enhanced website will undergo new testing in 2.5 weeks according to Baritus. Other changes for it in the pipeline as well. Looking forward to seeing it back up and running soon! Approx by May 1st.

Live like there is no tomorrow!
I had the same issue earlier. Add the addnodes stated in the first post of this topic and you will probably be fine Wink.

According to the pool i'm mining on (http://dgc.cryptopools.com/) the difficulty went from 3.x to 4.x and will even increase more. I think these are the last couple of minutes that the difficulty of this coin are this low Smiley.

I tried syncing my wallet. no luck even with added nodes, using the v1.1 wallet. My 6715 HBN also just surpassed my 23k DGC in the value.  Roll Eyes

Did you also add these nodes at the link below to your digitalcoin.conf file?

http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.php/topic,115.msg353.html#msg35

Also check that port 7999 is forwarded in your router and/or software firewall(s)

Additional troubleshooting info here too:

http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.php/topic,583.msg3125.html#msg3125

Otherwise post a message here in the Digitalcoin troubleshooting forum section

http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.php/board,4.0.html

and you could also ask for assistance in the DGC IRC channel - irc.freenode.net #digitalcoin

Good luck!  Smiley

Updates:
- New DGC site is ready and live at http://digitalcoin.co.
- DGC 2.0 Core update has been announced. It brings Kimoto Gravity Well difficulty adjustment as well as a code base update.

Will we see a supported digitalcoin: protocol for accepting QR Code reader generated requests.?

I'm not sure how 'QR code reader generated requests' work but there is also additional functionality being introduced into DGC v2 besides the new difficulty algorithm.

From what I understand the new v2 wallet will support the direct import of Mini Private Keys via an 'Import Key' button, these are commonly used in QR codes as they're compressed to a shorter string of numbers/characters - is this what you mean ?

There's also talk of adding coin control and 'watch addresses' so you can 'watch' or 'monitor' the balances of coins which are not in your wallet - for example with this you should be able to see a summary of all your cold storage coins as well just by entering the address, no need for the private key for watch only addresses. Interesting hey ?

How many other coins have this kind of functionality ?

The functionality I am talking about is available in VTC, BTC, LTC, DOGE....

Basically, a Payment request is encoded as a URI, which is encoded as a QR Code.
The protocol is registered in the Registry, associating the protocol with the wallet.
When scanned by a QR Code Reader, the wallet opens to process the requested payment.

eg..... (feel free to complete steps 1-3 below if you own VTC to see exactly how this should work for DGC as it does for VTC)

Step 1 - Create URL

vertcoin:VxRDWiqXwSyBMYZKcEeTvJmN7Hf9a1eR8B?amount=10&message=donation      (this URI could also be entered directly in the browser address bar to initiate the xxx coin payment)

step 2 - Create QR Code to display on website

https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=300x300&cht=qr&chl=vertcoin:VxRDWiqXwSyBMYZKcEeTvJmN7Hf9a1eR8B?amount=10&message=donation

step 3 - web user scans the QR Code causing the wallet to open. User authorises payment, authenticates, and payment is sent.
http://www.quickmark.com.tw  is one QR code reader for desktops.

still no answer?

Your question doesn't make sense in the English language.

Perhaps you could rephrase it in some way...

Is 1.1 the latest version? It wont synchronize with that wallet.

It's stuck on the end of february here. I downloaded it again at the website, and that's also version 1.1.

Edit: I added some nodes and now it's working. So never mind ^^
