Most (if not all) people in the early days of any coin would probably be wishing they had held on to at least one or two of their portfolio a little longer but unfortunately that was all part of the process which included learning along the way as well as buying and selling. The early Bitcoin adopters probably feel the same way.

It might be a painful experience to go back to the past around 10 years since you made that post and then go over how many Dogecoin you got might have sold but out of curiosity would you be able to recall the amount you wished you held on to?

If only i would have hodl'd.

=_=

I recall mining around 3.7m doge in a short period of time after Reaper came out for scrypt. Thousands more later.

Mined many thousands of litecoin, 850 the first night it was out with my i5 CPU. After that initial chunk it was almost all in pools, mainly pool-x.eu before they disappeared with an unknown amount of my LTC lmao. Not sure how many I mined there or at the many other pools i tried out.

I mined a lot of different coins, but with the turmoil in my house, and lack of any self control or measurable amount of responsibility, I spent 99.9% of it on weed and random bullcrap, before it was worth what I believed it would be someday...

Currently I have millions of defunct coins, and only a few coins from smaller, still active networks. Namely Gridcoin.

...

I'm mostly over it now, I did what I did and what I do now is what matters.

Though it is not possible for most, I reserve hope for the day that I might be free from the need to labor constantly to survive.

Either way, I take this all as a life-lesson, there's lots of reference info for me to know what not to do and why, and even what might be a "good idea". Perhaps I can guide my children to live a smarter life, without losing the lesson from lack of pain.

lmao

Hows life for you? Want to meet back here in 10 years?

I must resist adopting yet another altcoin....

Damn this one has a puppy.

In all seriousness this is pretty pointless isn't it?

Woah, you had a post on Page 13! Pretty epic.

Well I can't give you your DOGE back but I can give you some merits.

Welcome back.

Some interesting stuff happening in the Dogecoin realm again thanks to the onset of DRC20. Competing protocols all looking to out-rug their users. Crazy uptick in number of transactions yet the price has moved down.

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/dogecoin-transactions.html#3m

I mean, same thing has happened with the rest of the market, but DRC20 sure isn't helping, lol.

Sorry to read about this, the less said about it the better. I sympathise because I also had my own moment where I almost made phenomenal amounts from a single trade all those years ago therefore best not say anything that may bring those memories back  Shocked

I don't even want to think about the millions of DOGE I gambled away on golf and women's tennis bets. I couldn't carry on with my day-to-day life if I did, lol.

There were many people that could have made thousands or millions of USD$ not only from Dogecoin but from others too. Sadly, you are one in a long list of people fall under that category.

sold 100.000 doge for 100$

I'm a web developer. Hire me for your work.
A Twitter account offered 69420 DOGE. Later Elon offered a million DOGE. There's $93000 from Elon if you're able to prove Elon Musk owned an emerald mine  Cheesy

Need to archive this proud Dogecoin moment for the historical record.

Elon seems to be having some fun; I think in response to a ridiculous lawsuit seeking damages from their losses on a Dogecoin investment, and claims by the media that said lawsuit will cause him to "stop supporting Doge."

Next move in Elon-landia should be SpaceX accepting DOGE for merch.

Then payments for Twitter Blue in Doge.

Also, well over 1,000 Doge Stamps have been minted now, lol.

Here is also a cool alternative to OP_RETURN messages to store data (haven't gave this a try myself yet): https://opreturn.net/p2shdata/

Very interesting, some decent-sized images in there, too.

There's a new thing that is a Counterparty / Ordinals hybrid called Stamps where image data is being stored in outputs as opposed to inputs. A few Dogeparty peeps have been experimenting with it as well (just started yesterday), but the changes haven't been made to the explorer to view base64 encoded images yet, as it has for the Counterparty explorer.

Doginals thus far has been a flop -- apparently every Doginals project was a rug. The Doginals explorer is having problems and the inventor of a competing numeration system for his "Dogecoin Rocks" has gone AWOL. Turns out you need to have the ordinals system fully applied to Dogecoin first or you won't be able to know which doge-satoshi is the ordinal, and thus can't move it, LOL.

It seems to be difficult to investigate about that without outright asking, as all Doge communities/forums are (of course) dominated by memes. Wink

Discussion on https://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoindev/ are good imho (I do moderate that sub).

I was aware of Dogeparty already, although I suspect that OP_RETURN is also restricted in Dogecoin and thus it would more be used for traditional NFTs stored off-chain.

Yep, you're exactly right about that, all images are stored off-chain for Dogeparty.. One of my Dogeparty co-fellows did try to insert a base64-encoded image in a token description but it would require a special explorer ala ordinals.com to view it.

https://dogeparty.xchain.io/tx/126037

For now the Dogeparty explorer, xchain, shows off-chain image, music & video files. It can also read json files for more advanced stuff.

Doginals is a bit boring IMHO b/c images are somewhere between 1.5 kb and 10 kb max... thats no fun for my purposes.

Thank you! I suspected there was some kind of NFT action on Doge too, due to this mempool graph (and a surge in transaction activity on Bitinfocharts):

Serious question: Does Doge currently support Ordinals? I've read elsewhere (without proper sources) that currently not, but if this is true, is it planned?

There were some discussions about Ordinals on altcoins (LTC has it already) and Doge, as a meme coin, would be a good fit I think for jpeg/gif-based NFTs.

Dogecoin had NFTs by way of Dogeparty, from 2014-2016 (of course then they were just called 'tokens') and now again from Oct 2021-present.

But more specific to your question, Dogecoin has something called Doginals which is based on a similar concept. Of course Dogecoin doesn't have Segwit or Taproot so instead up to 10 kb of data can be stuffed in a P2SH script. You can take a look at some of them here:

https://doginals.com/

Needless to say, most of the active doge devs aren't particularly happy about it, but at least the blockchain bloat is much smaller compared to BTC or LTC Ordinals inscriptions.

It seems to be difficult to investigate about that without outright asking, as all Doge communities/forums are (of course) dominated by memes. Wink

By the way, if you can erase crypto supply, you can make cryptos more valuable because there will be less of them.

How about erasing the Doge supply down to 15,000,000 !!!  You could help us all become millionaires.

Your friend,   GlobalProtection

Well, the problem is you are asking everyone to destroy their Dogecoin, and why would anybody destroy their hard-earned bags just to make the value of yours go up? Makes no sense.

Unlike SHIB or those other copycat tokens, the Dogecoin devs don't own most of the supply and can't just burn it willy-nilly. Everyone has to either purchase it or mine it. Or accept it for goods & services. Either way, nobody's getting DOGE for free.

Can anyone here post the download page for the dogecoin core wallet that is this version?:  Dogecoin Core 1.14.3

I found the information page for this version, but I could not figure out how to download it from that page and if I could?

Thank you.  This is the core wallet in use when I downloaded the first one I sent my Dogecoins to.
The correct link is this: https://github.com/dogecoin/dogecoin/releases/

Search there "Dogecoin Core 1.14.3" and then click on "Assets" and a window will open. There are files to download. Hope it helps.  Smiley
