OKX to support Doginals, other inscription standards in marketplace

The integration process begins with the Bitcoin token standard, SRC-20 (Stamps), allowing users to view and transfer different inscription standards. OKX Wallet plans to incorporate ARC-20 (Atomicals), DRC-20 (Doginals), and Runes by late February.

Concurrently, the OKX Marketplace will integrate these standards, enabling the purchase and sale of DRC-20, ARC-20, and Runes inscriptions without fees.

All the new activity is because of this, and Doginals pixel jpegs:

Last year, the emergence of DRC-20, which was inspired by Bitcoin’s BRC-20 standard, served as a major catalyst in network growth, ultimately causing a massive spike in Dogecoin’s transactions amidst a bear market.

"Network growth"... aka spam. Hasn't done jack for the price. Just a bunch of degen vandals who will soon leave a bloated blockchain in their wake after they move on to the next thing.

Dogecoin Network Hits New Milestone With Record-Breaking New Addresses

Dogecoin appears to be bustling with network activity despite keeping a low profile for most of last year. Data from the prominent on-chain intelligence platform Intotheblock shows that the OG meme coin saw a 1,100% increase in new addresses over the past week.

January 29 marked a significant milestone with an unprecedented creation of 247,240 new DOGE addresses, signaling an all-time peak. The surge in network activity comes amidst a relative lull on the price side of things.

Over the past day alone, DOGE was down by 3.28%, hovering below $0.08 at the time of writing. The tenth-largest crypto asset by market cap mostly defied the general recovery of the market to register monthly losses of nearly 13%.

Last year, the emergence of DRC-20, which was inspired by Bitcoin’s BRC-20 standard, served as a major catalyst in network growth, ultimately causing a massive spike in Dogecoin’s transactions amidst a bear market.

A few months later, the address count on the Dogecoin network crossed the 5 million market for the first time. While the subsequent network growth did not have any material impact on the meme coin, the latest milestone is expected to be different.

For one, popular on-chain analyst Ali Martinez suggests that this sustained growth in network expansion could hold promising implications for the future trajectory of DOGE prices.

A Potential Look at Dogecoin

Dogecoin has consistently been one of the most attention-grabbing meme coins for investors. Its shining period, as well as the open support from Elon Musk, brought about a powerful phase that could place this meme coin within the top 10. What potential scenarios indicate for the future of DOGE, which investors hope might one day reach 1 Dollar, is a topic of interest.

how long does it take to download all the blocks for full node?

and how safe is qt wallet full node compared to the ledger?

1. Depends on how fast your connection is, but the blockchain still isn't that big, so like 3-4 days max, most likely.

2. Very safe.

Doing some reading of old posts in this thread as there is a new lawsuit against Elon regarding his pumping of good 'ol Dogecoin.

Found a quote that did not age well:

Dogecoin with no innovation is doomed - time's up

Turns out that 1-minute block times and a fixed inflationary rate were indeed innovations. But time has also proven that innovation isn't all that's needed to keep a cryptocurrency afloat. You also need a strong community, miner support, and merchants willing to accept it. Having the backing of the richest man in the world doesn't hurt, either.

This message is relevant for those who develop Dogecoin applications:

If you need Dogecoin Testnet coins, you can claim these on https://dogecointf.salmen.website/
Currently, the amount is capped at 10 Dogecoin Testnet coins per hour

This is a great idea and I appreciate it... could use some test DOGE for my own Dogeparty purposes. However, it seems to be expecting a Litecoin address as I got this message when attempting to use it:

and then I never actually received anything at my Dogecoin testnet address. Some kind of configuration issue I'd imagine.

POS is the shit btw.

Not a very compelling argument. Let's look at the facts: no PoS coin has ever succeeded in the long-run. Ethereum may be the first to buck this trend (final word is still out), but this is only because it has massive brainpower behind its development and a rich infrastructure built atop it before the switch.

DOGE being mergemined is just getting given away for free to LTC miners.

Switching DOGE and LTC would be a more accurate depiction of what is going on, seeing as how DOGE has a far higher market cap and greater trading volume than LTC.

POS would reward DOGE holders.  It would be a good move.

It would incentivize them to hold DOGE rather than spend it. And as DOGE distribution is extremely skewed toward the top holders, switching to PoS would only serve to make the extremely wealthy even more wealthy... not part of Dogecoin ethos in the slightest.

If Dogecoin switches to PoS, it won't be Dogecoin anymore, it will be something else.

A few people got a chance to buy some Dogecoin for 25 Bitcoin Satoshis today... Not to shabby.  The pros of helping have bid/ask in the books, you can get a good buy.

Buy for 25 sats and instantly sell for 0.00000255 BTC with 10x profit.

Congrats.

Why the push to Proof of Stake when PoW works fine and the network is far more energy efficient / eco-friendly than BTC or pre-PoS ETH? Because the biggest holders of Doge (like Vlad Tenev & Vitalik, who is a major donor to the foundation) stand to reap huge rewards by doing so.
I didn't understand why Doge holders would benefit from PoS.

Its cute that they are referring to PoS as "Community Staking"... somehow the word "community" makes it less power-grabby I guess was their thinking.
The foundation's a glossy promotion for unelected ppl taking it on themselves to make the foundation. They can't trademark Dogecoin to prevent abuse or fraud but they're trying because it open other opportunities.

It can't be donors gave no strings attached they want some thing in return. Vitalik donated 500 ETH & 20M Dogecoin so what's he gaining from doing it when he should've kept his focus on Ethereum.

I just needed to mention that this is one of the most ridiculous things I've read in a long while (point #4 in particular):

The most current iteration of the Dogecoin Foundation seems to be attempting to co-opt the Dogecoin logo and trademark for their own purposes, which I suspect they think is going to help their goal of transitioning Dogecoin to Proof of Stake (even though they will never admit this).

First of all, the logo in question was posted in this thread about a month before the first Dogecoin Foundation was ever created.

Second of all, the logo has always been synonymous with Dogecoin and not the foundation. Who does the MyDoge CTO he think he's fooling? A bunch of suits at the patent office I guess was the plan. There's gonna be a huge pushback over this. Of course all Dogecoin-related activity migrated to Reddit and Twitter years ago, but I just thought I'd share what's going on here as well.

If only i would have hodl'd.

=_=

Hahaha I feel your pain. Most of us have similar fate.

My first post is in this thread 7 years ago and I wish I kept at least some of the DOGE I mined back in the days.

Most (if not all) people in the early days of any coin would probably be wishing they had held on to at least one or two of their portfolio a little longer but unfortunately that was all part of the process which included learning along the way as well as buying and selling. The early Bitcoin adopters probably feel the same way.

It might be a painful experience to go back to the past around 10 years since you made that post and then go over how many Dogecoin you got might have sold but out of curiosity would you be able to recall the amount you wished you held on to?

If only i would have hodl'd.

=_=

I recall mining around 3.7m doge in a short period of time after Reaper came out for scrypt. Thousands more later.

Mined many thousands of litecoin, 850 the first night it was out with my i5 CPU. After that initial chunk it was almost all in pools, mainly pool-x.eu before they disappeared with an unknown amount of my LTC lmao. Not sure how many I mined there or at the many other pools i tried out.

I mined a lot of different coins, but with the turmoil in my house, and lack of any self control or measurable amount of responsibility, I spent 99.9% of it on weed and random bullcrap, before it was worth what I believed it would be someday...

Currently I have millions of defunct coins, and only a few coins from smaller, still active networks. Namely Gridcoin.

...

I'm mostly over it now, I did what I did and what I do now is what matters.

Though it is not possible for most, I reserve hope for the day that I might be free from the need to labor constantly to survive.

Either way, I take this all as a life-lesson, there's lots of reference info for me to know what not to do and why, and even what might be a "good idea". Perhaps I can guide my children to live a smarter life, without losing the lesson from lack of pain.

lmao

Hows life for you? Want to meet back here in 10 years?
