Farewell, Leo
Bitcoin: ~707 KWh
You know you can make a nearly infinite number of transactions with these kilowatts instead of just 1, right?

Every time I see anything about doge, all I can think about is how I wish I still had the 12 million DOGE I sold in 2014 for a crappy used Mustang.

This failure will follow me to my grave.

Forget about it and move forward. FOMO will be in every coin you bought. Better check activity of Dogecoin team on Github and you will understand that maybe this is a dip or not.

lol

Yeah, it doesn't bug me anymore, but when I see something about DOGE it can still come back to haunt me for a moment.

Lessons learned. I'm doing well these days with crypto, but still... coulda retired last year if I still held it. Oh well. In 2014, nobody could have ever expected it to do what it did in 2021.

Vitalik Buterin said, that Dogecoin can move on PoS consensus mechanism. Earlier this year, it was reported that Vitalik was working with the Dogecoin foundation to migrate it from PoW to PoS. I think US can impact to all Pow crypto to move on PoS.

Are you really comparing BTC SHA256 and LTC S-Crypt hashrate 1:1?
If such a comparison is desired it should be done based on energy used by the hashing for each algo respectively.

That just makes the difference between BTC and LTC/DOGE even greater...

Here's another way of looking at things. As of Sept. 2021, in terms of energy consumption per transaction:

Bitcoin: ~707 KWh
Ethereum: 62.5 KWh
Dogecoin: 0.12 KWh

BTC is a beast in energy consumption compared to ETH, and ETH was a beast compared to DOGE... no reason for DOGE to switch to PoS.

Meanwhile, here is a screenshot of four coin hash rates pre-merge:

Bitcoin's hash rate is hundreds of times higher than DOGE, LTC (which are actually merge-mined) and ETH. Granted, zero energy consumption is better than some... but in comparison the three altcoins are just tiny blips compared to the amount of energy consumed by Bitcoin.

What DOGE really needs is adoption, first and foremost.

Best is if Doge gets a team of promotors that will actively get new businesses on board. The bigger the better.

Doge has a huge amount of creative fans already, there must be enough to fund some workers.

Sad that was the reason behind the DOGE mini-pump...

Why doesn't Vitalik care if Litecoin moves to Proof of Stake?

VB again touched on the topic of the transition of Doge to PoS and that he hopes this will happen soon, for the first time he touched on this topic back in interview in February UpOnly (time code 20:35-Proof of Stake / NFTs) when he talked about the need to abandon mining Doge and now repeats it again.

hi, no one is stupid, maybe at first you are not patient enough and we will never know when to pump or dump, and when the pump was massive it was because there were very good influencers too at that time

is there something wrong with what i said  Grin Grin

Well yeah, first of all DOGE never reached a dollar, it topped out at 74 cents in May 2021. Second of all people who know DOGE know Binance has a terrible track record with it, between trying to extort users out of funds they sent in error and pushing BSC-DOGE as the real Dogecoin while making its withdrawal fee significantly lower than that of DOGE. Which leads me to believe your claim about having funds on Cryptopia when it closed is also not true.

Anyway, great to see DOGE pumping over the last 24 hours when all the other big boy coins are pretty much flat (sans XRP... whats up with that, lol).

Speaking of Big Boy Coins, DOGE is once again in the CMC Top 10...

yes I also lost there about 2k Dogecoin before when the price of Dogecoin was still looking cheap I still say it's normal to lose a little money but after seeing the price of Dogecoin hit $1 last time it really makes me regret losing my dogecoin there, but I also don't store completely on new exchanges or small exchanges usually i keep 80% in wallet and 20% traded on binance exchange which is certainly a trusted and big exchange

I don't know sometimes I prefer to buy things with Fiat money and I'd rather hold Dogecoin as an investment than spend it to buy something using my Dogecoin, but I also fully support Elon really keeping his promise to push Dogecoin as a means of payment in his company Tesla

Yes, of course, Doge is the best long-term investment, but there is more calculation on marketing, of course, because for large holders of 1000 Doge is not a problem, the main thing is not to keep coins on exchanges waiting for a pump, unless you are a trader, one of my comrades lost on cryptopia 900k Doge and what will happen to them in the future is not yet I see.

Obviously you're allowed to do with your DOGE whatever you want, though:

1. It IS a currency first and foremost, hence the term cryptocurrency. Without people using it as such, it will never attain any kind of true utility and be relegated to the likes of a speculative investment, along with 99% of all other altcoins.

2. Its true that the longer you hold DOGE on an exchange, the more likely you are to someday lose it... whether the exchange goes under, KYC's you out of your account, or you simply lose access to your login credentials and there's no way to restore them.

Once you get some DOGE, its best to save some and then spend some... use it for what it was made to do.
