If Earthcoin has already survived for 4 years, I guess the time for a nice rise could have come. Some coins are like fruits, they just have to get ripe.

When I was starting in the crypto world, this was the first coin I bought on a now defunct exchange Cryptsy and it was memorable. Despite all the problem EAC had faced in the past it remained strong all over the years. Time will tell whether it is ripe for EAC to make a big come back.

Good news coming for Earthcoin!

There is light at the end of the tunnel for Earthcoin - the attackers will be going down in flames.

I ran the old wallet and it got me up to the current block. Then I killed it and started the new wallet - it started downloading blocks and is starying current, however blocks are still being orphaned . we need more people on the new wallet. there are only 4 active nodes. if we can get two or three more nodes on the new wallet we can take our coin back. I'm throwing 1,800 MH/s at it.

i'm mining at http://pool.iphonejh.com/getting_started with 1Gh but blocks get orphaned is this pool ok ?

Stop mining on this pool please and contact me by PM, please.

Hi all!
I offer you an anti-attack patch for this coin.

If you want to stop the 51% attack on EAC, use the patched wallet.
The patch is an added checkpoint in order to disconnect the attackers fork. With this patch, everyone should be able mining this coin.

I you prefer building from the source: https://github.com/Sandokaaan/earthcoin/
...or use my builds below.

Bootstrap file for a faster sync:

Hi Sandokaaan,
Thnx for the patch, great job! Respect for your technical skills if you are able to solve this issue.
I'am crowning you as the new tech. dev for earthcoin  Grin First patch/version for ages...

Hi nivekvssn!
The patch would work if the majority of the network used it. I hoped Prohashing launch a public mining pool for the new blockchain but they delay and the attackers got a huge advantage in the difficulty meanwhile, so chances to break-through the difference is negligible now. I am preparing another attempt to stop them...

Compiling right now and I'll try to get it running on my pool a.s.a.p !
EDIT: I've compiled and synced your new version, it seems to stop at block 1550146, same with the windows QT wallet.

MINE STOPS AT 1550185 - any fix for this?

thanks in advance

Hey guys! I have a dream, but that does not mean it will be forever! Do you have any real information about the project, or is it all already over?

What is your dream?  Wink

I have compiled the original repository wallet in ghitub: https://github.com/earthcoinproject/earthcoin, and Is synchronizing I think it is the version that you said to compile:
  "Version": 1030400,
  "Protocolversion": 70002,

Hi all!

I have prepared another attempt to stop the monopol mining of EAC.

What is the plan?
Phase 1: If you applied my patch, please delete it and go back to the official EAC wallet (release 1.3.4) and wait for sync.
Phase 2: I will make a hidden branch of the blockchain. As soon as it gain a sufficiently big advantage in the cumulative difficulty, I will conect it to the network and the original branch (mined by attackers) will be orphaned. Then everyone can start mining on arbitrary public mining pool (e.g. Prohashing).
Phase 3: Checkpoints will be added to stabilize new blockchain.
Phase 4: Upgrade protocol version to disconect attackers from the network.

If you want to cooperate, please, contact me by PM.

If you think that I should not do it or if you have another suggestion, please, contact me too.

Yes please go forward with the plan! I would gladly cooperate.
I synced with release 1.3.3 wasn't aware of a official 1.3.4 version, is there a download location for it?

Release 1.3.3 is OK. Only if someone runs my version 1.3.9, he should leave it. The block explorer still shows one node with version 1.3.9 (IP 112.25.215.71).

Is the same version as in github? I wait for your answer to compile, I think it's a good idea, please implement everything you said. The important thing is to eliminate the attackers

Why this coin is in the top 5 scam list ?

 http://bitcoinchaser.com/top-5-cryptocurrency-scams

Because the EarthCoin dev planted trees in his backyard and took photos to say that their company was planting trees to support crypto and offset humans effects on the environment, etc Cheesy
