Looks like I'll be trying this version out in just a little bit.

I see that there is one for the solar staker wallet?
Is that proprietary to a certain device?
Is the solar staker out, and I don't know about it yet?
If so, how does one acquire such a device?
So many questions........ LOL

Hi TheSignGuy! Hope all's well.

When you do get a chance to inspect the new version, I do hope you like what you find. I believe you are the one that mentioned to me the unlock button not reacting the way it should in certain scenarios. Much work went into covering all those many scenarios and having the software visually react appropriately and not just with the unlock button. You will find the Stake for Charity dialog react much more intuitively also. Walking the end-user through all the steps in plain and easy to understand terminology and visual cues like icons and coloring. Not to mention, the new system tray icon!

The link you mention is for our current EverGreenCoin Solar Staker (patent pending) units using CHIP. No, they are not 'out' per se, but ramping up as fast as hurdles can be overcome. There has been some interesting twists unfolding. We are readying to install more of the current units, but not production manner as of yet. We are still a bit away from that, but of course will be the centerpiece of the next roadmap, which is being readied. Currently we do not have enough of a supply of components or a streamlined instillation to distribute units widely, but we are fighting those shortcomings on many fronts, in many ways, and to the best of our ability. Don't be alarmed when / if you see those icons appearing with different Single Board Computers (ie Raspberry Pi). While more EverGreenCoin Solar Stakers are being installed soon, these will be installed and maintained under a more watchful eye. Community members wishing to contribute to the solar staker, or any EverGreenCoin initiative, are kindly asked to open that communication with any preferred method.

This will be discussed in-depth during Saturday's meeting as will many topics. I hope you will be able to join us. James from IEO has already confirmed he will be attending and we do plain to have a demonstration lined up for the recording. So many questions, indeed! It will be a busy meeting, I look forward to the productivity. Of course and as always, I will do my best to briefly yet clearly summarize that for the recorded part of the meeting.

Hope to see you then!

EGC is losing its value and gradually going to end of the list.
why don't developers do something about it
to save it

If you look at the charts for the last year, you can see that EGC has steadily gone up.

It's had dips here and there like all cryptos, but about 10x value seems pretty good to me :-)

We have one of the most active devs out there, who can help create the tools to use the currency (such as a brand new wallet), but can't control the price, which is up to those using it.

Hi greenies,

It does look like my personal endeavors may keep me from hosting the hangout tomorrow. I apologize for that. The snow has already started to fly here and we do need to wrap up this year's harvest as soon as possible. The weekends are the time the most hands are available. If there is any surplus of hands, I certainly will dip out and host the meeting. But, that is only if I can. Tentatively, I must cancel.

Possibly en lieu of that meeting, a quick update:

- Development - You may be finding a v1.7 EverGreenCoin wallet in your peer list. Testing has moved to main net. I am very excited for the possibilities the 'dynamic', for lack of a better name, staking for charity opens. Organizations and other green causes will be able to leverage staking for charity in un-thought-of ways. Working closely with EverGreenCoin they can tailor simple instructions to their base. Bringing them into our base with a very unique and pain-free experience.  I have all the staking for charity dialog messages working intuitively, guiding users to a very easy experience. No longer will there be misleading lock messages when not unlocked for sending. I am proud to have EverGreenCoin bringing users a truly unique staking for charity implementation. Also the less-than-perfect system tray icon is finally replace in v1.7. Thank you for tolerating it as long as you have.
- Business - We did this week receive a state charter number. This number was needed to proceed to the next layer of red tape. Please understand there is much paperwork in this process. Thank you to the community members that have helped and it is proceeding as planned and on schedule.

Ok, again, I hope I can escape the cold corn field to host tomorrow. I do apologize in advance if I am unable to. If I can get away briefly to have a quick meeting, I will announce that with as much notice as possible.

Have a great weekend and, keep warm!

Wow, you guys have snow already - I'm out for the day again - visiting London this weekend, so wouldn't have been able to make the hangout again.

It will be great to see the charity staking options

Have a great weekend everybody!

I would like to setup staking in a virtual linux machine. But I can not use any GUI like Gnome.
Is it possible to start staking in console only linux environment?

Yes.  You'll want to compile evergreencoind and start it as a daemon with staking enabled.

Funny, somebody else asked the same question today about staking using a daemon on a different thread i'm involved in

The following guide should help you - its for PPC which almost all PoS coins are based off

Thanks for the heads up - there seem to be lots of scams and spams going around these days

The new account spam is getting a tad out of hand.
I've been seeing it in threads everywhere and when I go look at the user's post history -- mostly I find all one sentence or less, non-content garbage; in spurts -- and a lot all in one day.

is there any minimal threshold for initial purchase?

Depends on which exchange what it has limited as smallest buy.

Looks like a copy and paste robot - the forum seems rife them this week - hope the mods manage to get things sorted

Hello,

I just wanted to share a "heads up" that there are some emails going around looking to be from Blockchain.

Claiming something of the sort that there has been suspicious activity, so wallet locked, check in with a link (which I am sure will be phishing for info).

Be careful where you click, and if one ever really wants to check, log in at Blockchain.

And if one really wants to part with their BTC, I would gladly accept some. LOL
