Please everyone, verify you are on the correct EGC blockchain. You can do so using the block explorer at http://158.69.205.238:3001 (transactions.evergreencoin.org) If you are uncertain how to do this follow these directions: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.14967592   If you find that you are on an incorrect blockchain, please close your wallet immediately and do not reopen it until you are ready to do a complete resync. If you are uncertain how to do a complete resync follow these directions: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.14926046

It is of the utmost importance the entire network is on the same and correct blockchain. Thank you in advance for verifying you are not fortifying an incorrect fork of the blockchain.

getblockhash 429305 = f7a572bb96a64c04c650a3dae6e2b301f2185c0f8f057e6841eb2f26522fa983

p.s. I know it has been asked of me to address the richlist on the block explorer. I believe it is broken as a residual effect of me repeatedly dropping tables when I was trying to get it on the correct blockchain. At this time I do think it is best to leave it in a functional state so people can verify block hashes and not re-index because it will be useless for verifying correct block hashes and therefore blockchains for 4-6 hours when I do so. Your request has not gone ignored or forgotten, only placed on hold until a 4-6 hour downtime could be better tolerated.

I just restarted stratum servers at SuchPool and reenabled payouts, sorry for the delay I'm a bit busy lately.

Thank you SiD!

Next prob for me. Now I'm finally on the right chain, but apparently almost the whole amount that I own are at stake at the other chain  Undecided

Have you tried repairwallet from the debug console?

added this note and how to check to see if your wallet is on the right blockchain to the forum thread if anyone else wants to add any useful notes feel free to do so. please label it troubleshooting notes with corresponding number. having all in one place will make it easier for people to troubleshoot.

I'm not sure what happened lately or if someone's attacking the network but it's starting to get annoying.
Exactly the same that I was thinking of. I am also struggling to get synced.
Does EGC use a checkpoint server? If that is the case, I would take a look at that. Just my 2 EGC...
In the meanwhile, I'm gonna reinstall and resync for the 3rd time  Embarrassed

I just periodically make backups off all the wallets I run across all rigs so in case of a fork or other issues I can just restore the wallets wth their blockchains so I only need to sync a few thousand blocks max.

My problem is that I can't leave my rigs mining EGC even though I'd love to because if I get on a fork I'll just waste electricity and of course - regardless of mining - these forks made staking a pain in the ass.

I sincerely thank you, and apologize that it is still needed, for your diligence to verify all your rigs are on the correct chain, bathrobehero. I know very well how fearful the anticipation of "getblockhash" has become as of late. I know I am not the only one that must be saying a small prayer before pressing enter. The good thing is we are not seeing a seednode on an incorrect fork. I can't tell you how many times I have had to resynce the faucet's wallet, but I know I am not the only one that has lost count. I thank you all for taking this time to verify you are on the correct chain, periodically checking against the block explorer, and promptly closing the wallet if you find you are in an incorrect fork.

As far as the staking, when a wallet is brought onto the correct chain, the correct chain does "think" the wallet has been offline the entire time it was on the incorrect chain. So the correct chain does compensate for this, what it views as downtime, in the next PoS rewards on the correct chain. I proved this for a gentleman in this post.  So fortunately, PoS rewards will not suffer no matter if or how many times you find yourself in an incorrect fork. Of course, my deepest apologizes for each and every one of those times that you do.

Please everyone, take a moment to verify you are on the correct chain as I explained in this post. If you find you are in an incorrect fork, please close your wallet immediately so you are not fortifying the incorrect fork.

Thank you all for your diligence and continued patience.

Blockexplorer still broken and Wallet is not syn so good. Had today problem again after second start of the Wallet all was okay again.

The block explorer is working. It is on the correct chain and it can be used to verify block hashes which will prove if you are on the correct chain.

To do this, within you EGC wallet, click on the Statistics tab. Look to see what block height you are at. At the time of this writing we are on 427914 so I will use that for example. Next click on the block explorer in the wallet. In the top left input field, type 427914 and click the Jump to Block button. You will see it output a Block Hash. In my example of block 427914 the output block hash is 038a896c2506dcf7e609281b89287c8efbec3138dc3915591ab9f2298354d156 Now go to the online block explorer at http://transactions.evergreencoin.org and in the search field, type 427914 and press the search button. You will see the block hash listed directly below the search field, labled "EGC block:" followed by the block hash. Compare this hash against the hash your wallet returned. If they are the same, you are on the correct chain. If they differ, you are on the incorrect chain. If that is the case, please immediately close your wallet and do not open it again until you are ready to do a complete resync.

I am sorry you and other community members are have difficulty staying on the correct chain. EGC does use a checkpoint server, yes. Crysx and I are monitoring this server and the other servers constantly throughout the day and verifying block hashes periodically against all the seednodes and the block explorer. They have all stayed on the correct chain and we will continue to monitor them and verify they have.

I didn´t reinstall I just closed wallet and open it again and then he found the new block. You don´t need to resync always.

Downloading the whole chain via wallet does take time indeed.

So does the importing of bootstrap.i think my crapmachine took hours.  With that white nice window saying "application hung" every time i touched it.
(this is normal.. happend to all 4 bootstraps i've used on different coins. One took 3 times longer than EGC.. but also had a biiig blockchain.)

TIP.
DONT ERASE.
RENAME!

EverGreenCoin.OLD   (this way you can always go back and retry)

Copy only the files you want into a  fresh folder, or start anew.
I dont think it matters if wallet dat is there before or after resync.

YOBIT!

I srsly dont understand whats going on there.

Theye were on the wrong fork, had maintainance. Then opened wallet.
I did a test transaction.
It was successful. I even posted it here.
Date: 23.05.2016 22:31    <-  99 egc from yobit to wallet.

Then, a bit later i see their status is "block delayed".
This morning i saw it was in "maintainance" again.

I think we should give them the benefit of the doubt and just wait.

They are indeed really bad at giving out information about status. But considering admin is active these days, and the wallet status changes, makes me think they are working on it.

And as we all know... resyncing a blockchain from scracth and importing wallets is NOT a quick fix to just run over.
Imagine their wallet... and accounts Shocked

Anyways.. none of these things are done in a flash.. There was a problem, and everyone needs to have some patience while its solved and everything is smooth again.

Id like to see any other altcoin survive an event like this.
Props and creds to EGC team.

My wallet forked again at block 426743 (I wasn't mining this time) but at least this time all nodes disconnected me.
