I make it under 400 blocks until the hard fork happens, at the current rate that might mean it happens at some point after midnight GMT (probably 5-6 hours from the time of this post).

Looking at an old wallet instance I've got for monitoring the old versions I still see a number of nodes on the old version. These should currently still be in sync with the new versions thanks to Chicago's hybrid node. However once the new network rules kick in at the hardfork they will go out of sync and there is no way to keep them on track from that point.

If you are still running an old version of the wallet (1.3.0, 1.4.0, 1.4.1, 1.4.2) stop it now and upgrade to the latest versions (links at the top of the page).

Is it possible to send a message directly to the nodes still operating on the old wallet / protocol version? I believe in some qt clients there is a way to do it if you have some kind of master key...

I found some documentation - not sure if its of use or not...

Pst
Its just a cosmetical problem tho..

You need to run a screen with resolution 1280x800 or more, because of the height of the window.

i tried in my other laptop looking right.

and not showing correct in full hd laptop.

Without being able to simulate the issue, it is very difficult for me to resolve it. If you have time, maybe you could experiment with different settings and see if you can help me isolate the source? I cannot replicate it. I would greatly appreciate the help.

I see. On my many tests on Windows 10 machines, there is not that display problem.

I believe what you are seeing are remnants of me trying to use a non-standard font in the wallet. I had tried to use Typola font throughout the wallet, even getting written permission from the font's authors in Malaysia for EverGreenCoin to use the font. Typola is the font the artist used as a base for the EverGreenCoin logo text. Here are 2 pictures of what I had intended the wallet to look like, using the Typola font...

Getting the Typola font to display correctly was a very painstaking and time-consuming process. It is not as simple as changing the font in a Word document and many solid days were devoted to the task specifically. Unfortunately, issues with the font aliasing in some build environments when getting the final builds together for release caused me to revert the change and resort back to a standard font. However, I fully intend to use the font in the future when sufficient time can be devoted to resolving the aliasing issues that arose. Again, I have been granted full permission in writing from the authors Willy Riftian and Dewi Sata for EverGreenCoin. I am very appreciative of their generosity in doing so and it will be fully leveraged and accredited.

Now back to the issue you are seeing, shadabahmed. Like I said, I have tested the wallet on many, many different Windows 10 machines, both physical and virtual. I can not replicate the issue with even the lowest resolution settings on a 5-year-old laptop. Here is the wallet on that old laptop not exhibiting your issue...

I too must do my computing on, what many would consider, sub-par equipment. I suggest you inspect your machine's drivers and see if you can get a signed Windows 10 approved driver from the manufacturer of your graphics card installed.

Let us not lose sight of the primary objective of this release, hardforking to prevent unintentional forking on the network so EverGreenCoin can grow to its potential. I did make great effort to bring in other enhancements into the release and I do plan to further improve upon these enhancements. Unfortunate for me, my many sleepless days, and countless hours devoted to v1.5, the font enhancement needed to be reverted and shelved in respect to the primary objective. Fortunately for EverGreenCoin, no forward progress on the font enhancement was lost and I am very persistent.

It has something to do with your Resolution not your Windows 10, but Steven is aware of it and he will give you a statment when he got enough sleep. He worked very hard to finish the Wallet, that no user get stucked in a fork again and we are one of the first small PoS Coins that could find where the problem is and fix it with an hardfork. Bitcoin still fighting because of one hard fork and we already did 2 without big problems Cheesy

Hello,

A hybrid node bridging the protocol 80000 and protocol 80015 clients approximates the population of Evergreencoin nodes as of height #890394 on MainNet.  We share these results now, in the forum, to encourage users to upgrade to v1.5 today.

Thanks for all your hard work guys - Can't wait to try out the new wallet.

I wonder what the surprise was...

Staking for charity. Now, up to 100% of your staking rewards can be sent to any EverGreenCoin address automatically and after maturity (60 blocks).

I hope to use this to attract charitable organizations into the EverGreenCoin ecosystem. But that of course is not the functionality's only use. While working on it, I did think of you scenario specifically, starmman. Where you do not have direct access to your staking node. You could, for example, have your staking rewards sent to another wallet, exchange or elsewhere, where you might have more readily available access.

Please do be advised that if you do have 100% of your staking rewards sent to another address, you will actually be sending, or donating, more than 100% because you will be paying the transaction fee  (.0001 EGC) on top of the percentage.

I hope to in future releases have a list of charities, populated by calls to an EverGreenCoin server, for people to select a charity of their choice. In the meantime, I will get a portion of the EverGreenCoin website devoted to this purpose in the near future.

I hope users do enjoy the new wallet. Chicago and I worked very tirelessly on it. Please do upgrade at your earliest convenience. Thanks in advance for doing so and many thanks to those who already have.

Sounds awesome - I wonder if its time to approach the ecosia foundation again - it would be great to have the ability to plant tress whilst using a solar staker.

Slight hold-up here as Crysx has seemed to have disappeared. Doing my best, please bear with me. Thank you in advance for your patience.

EDIT: MAC wallet is done. But no wallets can be released until the seednodes are ready.

EDIT 2: Still waiting and looking for Crysx. I was talking to him in skype an hour before. He told me he was building and went offline. Sorry for the continued delay.

EDIT 3: Please hang tight. I do want to bring the network back online in full strength.

Hope all went well with the deployment - I wont get a chance to upgrade my wallet until Monday

hi mate ...

no deployment as yet - as i have had a great deal of things to take care of on a personal basis ...

as a few of you know - and those that dont - i have had to commit about 5days to a court trial that lasted two whole days ...

during this time - my silence was the only thing i could have to focus on the case ... these things in life are always a headache - and require not only time - but focus and complete commitment to the case at hand ...

ill be posting this on the cwi-thread in the coming days in a little more detail - but the crux of it all is pretty much that i had to fly out ( 2.5hours ) - and drive ( 5.5hours ) and settle in to focus on paperwork and the mess i had to deal with ... when court time arrived - i had to drive out ( 3.5hours ) to the courthouse and endure two days of what can only be described as painful experience - to say the very least ... those of you that have been through a trial - will understand ... those of you that havent - lets just say i would rather have teeth pulled without anesthetic than go through that again ...

after all completed - i flew back and settled in back home a couple of days ago - to have had yesterday for rest after the travelling and court ordeal ...

today ( saturday ) - i have been focusing on work and  getting a number of things sorted ... even though orders have been handed down by the judge a few days ago - she has reserved her actual final judgement for a week or so while she deliberates the facts and issues of the case ...

this leads us to where we are at currently ...

why am i telling you all this? ... well - im glad you asked Smiley ...

steven and i have been discussing ( and organizing ) the rollout of the code and seednode compilations and so forth ... within an hour into the work - MORE paperwork was emailed through to my partner - and she made a hardcopy of it all and threw the complete small volume under my nose ... steven didnt even know i was gone - as it had to be done before the day was completed ...

to cut a long story short ( er ) - here we are and the compilation of the seednodes are continuing to roll on ... steven is working on a few things his side - but is waiting until all the seednodes are finalized ... hence this delay ... as ALL of you know the way we work - we will not release something that is half done - whether it is my fault or not ... even though i can only apologize for my delay in getting things rolling - we are rolling ...

as it stands - we are on our way to completion on the cwi end ... it is late here where i reside - but as long as everything goes well - we should have the entire backend sorted shortly ...

steven will no doubt post here when its all ready - as we are in constant discussion on skype ...

please hold tight and we will get this finished asap ...

tanx ...

Just under an hour to go. The only thing not in place at this time is the MAC wallet but it is actively being worked on.

It is best to stop your wallet within the hour, before 05:00 GMT. At that time, crysx and I will be tending to the seednodes. I will post links to the v1.5 wallets just as soon as the seednodes are ready to support them. This window of time should be brief, 5 to 10 minutes. I will update you if it runs longer than that for any reason.
