Big news!

Florin is a good coin.  I do miss my FLO, but they went to a good home... I'm sure I'll buy them back some day.

That is great news.

Any news about Poloniex FLO wallets ? Because deposit and withdrawals are disabled on Poloniex for FLO. Thanks !

Poloniex is painfully fucking bad right now... I've been waiting on a 1000 CLAM withdraw for 35 days.

14 days ago they told me it would be 10 business days :-/

I wrote a brief history of FLO from my perspective here:

https://gist.github.com/metacoin/37b55c110d5ead0b745b9dec9e377d0b

Feel free to add a comment with a suggested addition and I'll add it in! I'm sure I missed some things.

I wonder if OSTK using this coin changes the FA at all, makes it worth buying. Not sure about the tokenomics / demand pressure that would result from that (obviously adds a little demand, but how much?)

Storj lead dev here. I'll address this directly. So we are using Florincoin in Metadisk. Before you go all pump and dump, note that this only temporary and we plan on using Factom when they are ready.

This is not the Storj lead dev, it's a copy paste from 2014.

New pools
New pools have been added to the forum.flo.cash thread about pools:
https://forum.flo.cash/t/mining-guide-antminer-l3/36

You can now mine Florincoin and more than 200 coins at new autoexchange mining pool Zergpool.com at 0.5% fee now.
Hi pinpin,
Could you please update the FLO logo to our new logo? Here's a link to it. You can also find the source SVG and other colors and styles here: https://github.com/metacoin/florin-graphics/tree/master/rebrand
Also, if you could, please verify that your pool is running the latest 0.15 FLO core code.
Thank you

Big news!

He mentioned it briefly, but it's very interesting if we could get more info. I remember Patrick Byrne announced their partnership with counterparty in 2014 and the price of xcp moved very high. I don't want to sound cliche but why Flo is not priced in the dollars already based on this news alone baffles my mind let alone the on going development of this coin, alexandria, as well as being able to build apps on top of Flo etc.

Can you verify you're running the 0.15 version of the FLO software?
Thank you

You might be aware already, but just thought t I would mention that Bittrex seems to still have the old logo of florincoin and possibly other places too, might confuse newcomers.

Hi,

This coin is awesome and we are just happy to include Florin coin to blazepool as well.

Besides the normal way in mining through specifying a stratum address,
our pool also help track & mine the most profitable coin under a basket of coins in a range of algorithms in real time,
and at the end auto-exchange to BTC for your payout

Please feel free to try if you like. Enjoy!! ;-)

There are a few reports of users unable to find peers on the 0.15 client. We have an idea as to why this is this case. If your client is having trouble finding peers, please find your recent debug.log output and post it here, or send it to me in a private message.
As usual you can also join telegram for additional support: https://t.me/floblockchain
We've spent a lot of time setting up infrastructure for 0.15 with nodes around the world. We've also updated our DNS seed nodes as well. The node list in the OP could be added to flo.conf but should not be necessary considering the node count returned from our DNS seed nodes is adequate for syncing the chain.

Anyone able to sync from scratch with the new 0.15 wallet ? For me it just sits there with 0 connections, even though I've added the addnodes and won't sync forever...

I just launched a brand new VM at ChunkHost and it found a peer and began syncing immediately, no addnode's necessary

Code:
root@flo:~# cat .bash_history
apt update
apt upgrade
apt install build-essential libtool autotools-dev automake pkg-config libssl-dev libevent-dev bsdmainutils git screen libboost-all-dev software-properties-common
add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin
apt update
apt install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev htop
htop
git clone https://github.com/floblockchain/flo
cd flo
./autogen.sh
./configure
make -j 2
make
-- VM didn not have enough memory, resized at Chunkhost
htop
cd flo
make clean
./autogen.sh
./configure
make -j 3
-- 3 exceeded mem limits, dropped to 1
make -j 1
mkdir ~/.flo
make install
cd
echo 'daemon=1' > .flo/flo.conf
echo 'rpcallowip=127.0.0.1' >> .flo/flo.conf
echo 'rpcuser=user' >> .flo/flo.conf
echo 'rpcpassword=pass' >> .flo/flo.conf

DNS seed reported 14 nodes and after a few minutes I'm now up to 5 connections and chugging away on the initial block sync
