I simply refuse to install an app that wants access to practically everything on my phone, from my identity to my camera, microphone and all media on my phone. No flippin' way..

Camera for QR scanning.. Microphone for sending voice clip messages.  Location to send location through messenger to your friends etc.

hey guys.

for a few weeks now my funds in the android app dont show anymore.

also when i try to get the daily free gem it says "AUTHENTICATION_FAILED".

anything i can do to make it work again?

Sometimes i get that too but i have not contacted the GETGEMS SUPPORT so far because i am usually able to solve the problem. 3 things you can do:

1) switch off your phone and switch it on again and open GetGems app. see if it works
2) check the GooglePlay Store or iOS Apple Store for any updates. update and open GetGems app to see if it works
3) wait for 24hrs. Could be due to the GETGEMS TEAM trying to do something on their end. like a hotfix or something.

If all of the above doesn't work, contact GETGEMS SUPPORT.

No i believe 38 m was sold from the 50 m and the rest was burned which is that 11 m, 30 m will be for the airdrop fro the upcoming 3 years and the rest i think for developers and other things, buy i know the majority is for the airdrop and reward models where for the airdrop each day 17500 gems will be released to the network.

Hey Daniel I have a problem with my account. My network operator blocked my mobile number and I can't receive any messages and calls. Is there anyway I can access my account using my email linked in my account?

Love the app guys, keep up the great work!

Only two issues:

1.) Secret passphrase - I suggest prompting the user to enter a phrase upon installation, alongside the initial PIN #.  I uninstalled a few weeks ago, and today re-installed...only to be asked for a secret password I didn't know existed.  I was still able to recover my account thanks to the PIN, but users should be notified more of the secret phrase (instead of just having it in the settings menu)

2.) Battery drain - even while running in background, the app loves sucking juice.  Not that extreme, but many people (mobile enthusiasts, OCD sufferers, etc.) will be turned away from such a side-effect


Keep it up, I'll be holding onto my GEMZ in support!  Get a marketing campaign out there, as this could become huge with the younger crowd  Smiley

So i got some clearity regarding referrals. This has been raised quite a few times. Answer is, Alex and Alon know this and the back end database has a record.  Work is being done on anti-fraud to ensure referrals are real, by humans, and valid. This will prevent bot-monstets from stealing all the referral gems from the pot of gold (which is finite).  Once done and tested, it will be rolled out and everyone will get their referral gems.

The anti-fraud mechanism is already working very well (more info here: https://medium.com/@GetGems/referral-rewards-are-only-available-to-humans-16f67aae6fd1)

There is a different problem with the referrals which happens occasionally, we are aware of it and working on fix. As said before all the referrals are tracked and will be sent retroactively.

Forget Airdrop for now; instead, use those Gems to reward beta testers and bug finders 1000-5000 Gems per bug, depending on how significant the bug is.

If you incentivize users to help bug-test the referral system, they will be more forgiving, and less likely to delete the app/rate it 1 star.

There are already beta tester groups for android and ios in the app, the official version doesn't really have bugs from my experience, it's just the referral issue which i'm sure the team is aware of.

A friend of mine on Android sent the referral link to his friend, who then installed the app. My friend never got the Gemz for the referral, and subsequently deinstalled the program. When he told his friend the Gemz referral didn't work, he also uninstalled the app. They don't care about Gemz enough to contact support; they just wanted it to work.

If this app is to be successful, the referral system has to work 100% of the time. Otherwise, people will get pissed off and tell their friends that it sucks, rate the app poorly, and it will ultimately kill the momentum. If it means hiring people to test, or more programmers to debug, then do whatever it takes to get this right from the beginning, otherwise this project will stop dead in its tracks.

I agree here.  Should be top priority.  I've had similar experiences.

I have to agree aswell, the team has done a great job, but the referral system is doing poor, don't know where the issue is at but it should work properly for the app to succeed and to expand its userbase.
