Due to a server error, please do not fork any of your coins. If you already forked, but you still have coins in the old blockchain then please wait for confirmation that everything is ok. Then start the fork process again and create new addresses (for ETH and for XGR burning address as well).

What does it mean "server-error" is the regular XGR Network affected? an d regular staking? or just your Token? Do i have to stop XGR staking?

Hi Mester, any updates? I'am still waiting to swap my goldreserve coins. I see only 7 token holders accounts on etherscan, does that mean only 7 people have swapped until now.

Yes, only 7, but its ok, the majority are waiting for the exchange or the possibility to stake. And I got a good news!

FIRST GoldReserve amount deposited on the ethereum blockchain!

Hurray for the good news  Grin
I don't really understand it however, so this is no swap but a deposit where does it come from?

Ok, so lets clear things up. In a normal blockchain, which was GoldReserve before, you stake your GoldReserve coins to get interest (extra coins) after your existed coins. The staking happened when you opened your wallet and let it be part of the distributed ledger.

GoldReserve as an ethereum token works a bit different. It works like in real life. To "stake" your tokens to get interest after them, you have to "deposit" it inside your account. Meaning (as you are your own bank) you have to give an order to your tokens to stake. Why? Because ethereum tokens are smart contracts, small programs inside each other and you have to execute them (start and stop) if you want to interact with the smart contract, if you want to make your tokens stake, you have to make one of the smart contracts to execute, do what you want to do.

In normal circumstances, this staking (depositing) happens in a one click solution through our own wallet (Fusion wallet), but till it is not done 100%, you can do it in another way, through the use of myetherwallet and calling, executing the deposit smart contract.

Hope it is understandable.

P.S.: I am hungarian and I imported cars from all over Europe before. So somedays I check autoscout24...

Yes think I understand it, so in the smart contract the "staking" is defined and you have to activate it yourself until the new goldreserve wallet is finished.
The smartcontract then creates new tokens based on the number of GR tokens on your eth adress and on the total "staking" weight  correct?

p.s. How did you read that about autoscout? I removed that part of my message  Wink
removed it because I saw it's not only a dutch site but also other country's.

Well, you almost got it. If you use the smartcontract as you can see it in my video, then the "staking" is only affecting your tokens in your eth address. If you set a 1 month stake period for 5% then it effects only your tokens. The new wallet will only help the users to deposit (stake) their tokens in an easier way.

P.s.: Dunno, maybe as an admin I see the deleted parts as well.

Ok, thanks dev. I completely overlooked that burn address do not hold a private key.

We'll be waiting further news from your development.

So is XGR smart contract already active on the ethereum platform?

Yes, its already active.

I would need some help please, as I'm not a fan of ethereum.

I do have mist wallet because I'm long term holder of some ethereum tokens. I rarely use it, but now i would like to do a xgr transfer.

So can you please tell me how can I move my xgr eth tokens to my ethereum account.

I appreciate your help on that matter.

I created 3 videos. They are almost finished. You can then watch them on youtube.

When does the swap finishes?

The swap will finish AFTER we will have a working exchange and everyone can set up a deposit. Unfortunatelly, the huge amount of ICOs, all the exchanges are full, they have to schedule the coins for months further. I may have a solution for an exchange but it is not official yet.

@dev

I sent coins to the XGR burn address while the swap was not officially stated? Then I should get them back of that address, right?

Fork was not initiated and coins are still sitting in that XGR address which was ready for burn?

So my question is this. Can I import a private key of this supposed XGR "ready to burn" address in my XGR wallet.

Hi, theoretically you can, but the burn address do not have a private key, thats why its a burn address, no one can retreive any coins from them, and furthermore, we have only one burn address where all the swapped coins go.

So, if you want then settle your XGR tokens on the Ethereum blockchain as the contract is already there and ANYONE can swap their coins and within 24 hours it will be on the ethereum wallet you created on the fork page.

Swap is not officially started, so there is the swap page and that is working, but not many of you tried that so far.

About the deposit features, till the end of february I hope we can come up with our unique wallet, which is a multicoin wallet, and inside the wallet there will be options for one click deposit. Till then, after the swap will start I will create a video to explain how to deposit from parity of from myetherwallet.

The address and private key you will create is an Ethereum account address and private key. As GoldReserve will be a token on the Ethereum blockchain, you have to use and ethereum account to manage the XGR tokens.

And of course you will be given an old XGR address as well to where you have to send your old XGR coins. If you send them there, within 24 hours you will get the same amount in new XGR tokens to your ethereum account.

You stated here https://fork.goldreservecoin.com/
Announcement:
On 1,100,000 block the Gold Reserve [XGR] ( ERC20 based Ethereum token ) would be avaliable on the Ethereum blockchain.
If you want participate in the fork, you need generate below an Ethereum address and send your XGR coins to the given address.

So i took that participation seriously and did the necessary transfers.
That block count was almost a month ago (before the date of my last post here January 11). So now this is not your official statement any more? And my coins which I sent, are in limbo now?
Supposedly now I would need my coins back to XGR wallet?
Can I import a private key of that XGR address where i sent coins to (pre)fork, if fork is not official YET?

Please clarify that, thanks.

First, the page says it would be available and yes I should stated that you should wait for the official swap announcement. But I think I stated in this forum several times, that  the fork is on progress, and I am waiting for the new webpage and the answer from the exchanges I approached.
Second, your swapped tokens are not in limbo, but on the ethereum wallet you created  on the fork page.
third, I really do not understand your question about importing private key to wallet part. If you already sent your balance to the burn address, then you do not have those coins any more. Even if you get your private key and put it in another wallet, then it will show 0 balance. Thats how blockchain works. What you already sent its a done deal, you can not magically get it back from a previous save file...

So please be patient, its not up to me, when the this things will be settled. I will announce the news as soon I got them.

Thanks for the update and I look forward to when we move forward ;-)

Hey Mesterlovesz

how is everything? what is the status? Swapping seems not to very active? Wallet? when is the last chance to swap? How to deposit the new coins to your depsoit or the interest?

All iunderstand from now is creating the address with the private key and and then send the XGR to the swap address? Where do i use this address then ?

Hi Gloana, now only the backoffice working. I am creating the whitepaper, others working on the new webpage and the style of the new Bitcointalk ann, because I will soon close this one and start a new one with the new design and new features.

Swap is not officially started, so there is the swap page and that is working, but not many of you tried that so far.

Cool thanks for the answers. That means for now I can go on staking my XGR until the swap officially starts ...

I watch out for news here .... Smiley
