srcxxx - can u help the PIMP guys get their miner working?

I'm not sure what the original author of the top 100 addresses printout is referring too.
But I presume that he means that some wallets have too many GRS.
But I'd like to point out that exchanges and pools wallets are also in the list.
For example, grs.cryptohunger.com has around 200,000 in the wallet (guys, please withdraw, this is not a bank!).
I'm sure mintpal and poloniex also have quite a bit.

Can you compare with similar printouts for different alt-currencies?
I don't think many have this info public.

I do exactly that. My cpu has four threads so I use one for one x11 and three for BCN.

melt7777 here, team leader for the PiMP project to provide some objective facts here to help out the little troll party you started.

Fact: Groestl algorithm has been supported by PiMP for nearly all of PiMP's public releases for over 3 months.
Fact: Groestl algorithm has been advertised in the topic or tagline in all of PiMP's public forum posts.
Fact: Groestl algorithm GREATLY benefits from the fact that the hottest mining platform available has not only built-in support for it, but provided a default miner profile as an example that is easily chosen with a few clicks and one can mine Groestl algorithm!
Fact: Despite that being that simple, NO coins have been mined using the default miner profile according to the pool.
Inference: No one ever mined to the default Groestl profile.
Fact: A user in the IRC said in the channel that the pool used for the default mining was not working this morning.

We investigated this and told the user that this was news to us, and we would put it on our list to investigate. We asked the user to please try their own pools and report back. Instead, said user came on the forum and provided misinformation to the public with the obvious intention on discrediting PiMP and our team.

We will make it a priority to resolve the issue of the default mining profile for Groestl, provided there is a valid pool that we can use for testing, and incorporate that into our releases.

All of the above being said, please take the time to reflect on PiMP's success as the hottest, most bleeding edge, and the ONLY actively supported and optimized full-featured mining platform. You would do well to appreciate the size of our community. With over 300 downloads per day, you should be proud to have your algorithm and your coins being given the opportunity to be so easily mined and monitored.

Portable instant Mining Platform

First, as we say all the time in chat, PIMP is not BAMT. Its not even related. The only thing they have in common is they are Linux based.

We do include several mining profiles with different miners, so people are able to mine them out of the box, including Groestl. The user today was unable mine Groestl, because he couldnt connect to the default pool we include, and we could not find any other live pools. Obviously we cant do anything to support the user at that point. It is unfortunate that some anonymous person has chosen to take this out of context, and claim we are spreading 'fud' and wont support it.

I am pretty sure this anonymous 'ninja registrator' is the disgruntled user we were unable to support, who used the nick "ntsdm".

Hi, I tried to help the person seeking to mine your coin/algo, we are now using djstone/sph-sgminer by default so I downloaded prettyhatemachine/sph-sgminer, compiled it, and tested it with the same result. It used to work with the conf provided with the distro. I then tried the pool he gave me and it would not work, I said it was not a top priority, (and its not) this was taken as bashing.  Out of 3000+ downloads per month we have had more inquiries about your algo today than ever.  I will look into the issue, and would appreciate it if someone would stop by and give me a verified working (TODAY) pool to test it against.  I quite frankly do not have time to go through making accounts on every pool on the list to find one that works.  After taking a quick glance over, i think the issue could be resolved by adding the correct difficulty multipler flag to the conf file.  if someone would send me the correct value for this, I will implement it.

Oh hi! Lily here, what I said was one line of speculation based on no pools being available for it as of right now. Algos come and go, I have no idea about any of them to be quite honest, I am way too busy writing miner.farm to care.

I have no idea why you want to generate a bunch of noise for us over idle chatter in IRC. Please dont; we are way to damn busy making PIMP and miner.farm the best they can be for all current algos and devices.

PIMP supports Groestl, until there isnt anything to support. We were unable to find a live pool this morning, and speculated based on nothing else. Gosh, sorry.

I use the crappy brother to bamt its called PIMP its the Linux version of Crap mining and they have a profile made for Groestl with the sph miner. I saw"read" some guy trying to get his Groestl profile and miner working and the official support for the PIMP operating system shot him down and told him they were not gonna help him cuz its dead and all the admins jumped in and agreed and then they started bashing it!

otehrs may like to know that Groestl is prob the most thoroughly security tested of all SHA3 algos. A paper dated as recently as April 30 2014 (iirc) published by some Grøstl Team members (including Mendel) continued the research.

Grøstl is strong and well tested. This counts for a lot if ur gonna ride an economy on its back…
