Last week the HelloGold team was humbled and honored to be one of six startups selected as a member of the exclusive TenXClub. The TenXClub is an initiative from Malaysia’s Ministry of Finance and it aims to recognize and support Malaysian start-ups with the highest potential.

We are excited that the Telco partner referred to in the last update will be announced very shortly! To recap, it is one of the largest telcos in Malaysia and in Asia with about 300 million customers in 8 countries.

Exchanges. We expect to announce a couple of new exchanges shortly. Watch this space!

GBT reward distribution. The GBT distribution for the month of November will be made on Friday, 8th December 2017. Please ensure that your HGT are in your own wallet (not on an Exchange) to receive the GBT. HelloGold’s monthly management fee in November summed up to 4.226g, an increase of 0.455g compared to October. The total allocation to HGT holders will be 0.422 GBT.

Exchanges & Market-making. The team have slowly gained traction with various exchanges to list HGT as well as market making to provide more volume and liquidity. We believe our hard work on this front will start to show results in the near future.

Marketing. The marketing plan discussed previously is in the works and will be released soon. The team is also exploring a tie up with exchanges to conduct promotions on trading of HGT, allowing for cross-marketing across the communities.

Last week, HelloGold participated in the week-long Singapore Fintech Festival. As members of the Finlab accelerator run jointly by UOB and SGInnovate, HelloGold was invited to present daily at the UOB booth in the Singapore Expo.

In the same week HelloGold received the Most Innovative Islamic Retail Product of the Year at the Islamic Retail Banking Awards held in Dubai.

On the recruitment front, HelloGold has added two more new members to the team in addition to the 6 new employees introduced in the last update.

KYC will be required to buy or sell GBT from HelloGold Foundation and to redeem physical gold from HelloGold.

Will GBT be available & tradeable on exchanges like EtherDelta (No KYC) & be redeemable for actual gold after you complete KYC?

Why is Blockchain technology needed for buying Gold? What benefits does it provide to the consumer?

HelloGold uses blockchain technology to provide 3 benefits:

Transparency

By publishing the smart contracts and incorporating a blockchain explorer (transaction navigator), it will be possible to review the full list of anonymised transactions and calculate the amount of gold that HelloGold is holding on behalf of customers. This, in turn, can be compared not only to the amount of gold published in the customer gold list (anonymised) but also against the records managed by our custodian.

Security

HelloGold has incorporated several security mechanisms to protect customer accounts. All connections are encrypted using HTTPS. Internal API calls between the core components are secured with additional secret keys and firewall rules that limit interactions between trusted systems. For external facing APIs, for example APIs used by our mobile application, the API calls are further secured with a combination of industry standard OAUTH and secure tokens for each mobile device. The addition of a distributed record adds a further level of security from internal and external attempts to alter account data without leaving an audit trail. The smart contracts are being developed with best practices in mind following constant review of public audit documents. This should ensure that customer accounts are true and accurate.

Access

In addition, the Ethereum smart contracts enable HelloGold to create GBT, tradeable on any exchange which accepts them.With HGF’s gold-backed token everyone will only need the equivalent of a fraction of a dollar to save through gold (GBT works to 18dp). This will make the HelloGold platform available to everyone anywhere in the world
