Looks like the market has set a new price on the #1A and it's about the same as the old price. $52

, or maybe they are just a rare base card.

Who knows?  Maybe.  ;-)

About Us

Expertly crafted trading card sets by collectors, for collectors.

Cardsmiths is bringing a unique take to the 100+ year old trading card market by combining innovative designs with cutting edge artwork, low print runs, and redemption programs unlike any other.   Our goal is to make every pack opening an experience and every card feel important in its own way.  Even putting together base sets is meant to be a challenge by selectively short printing a small number of cards in each set.  Simply put, we want to put the “chase” back into the hobby!

There was probably a bit of hype around these cards, esecially leading up to the redemption program as collectors where trying to complete sets.
My guess is that these cards will continue to rise in price unless more start popping up soon, maybe they are in unopened boxes, or maybe they are just a rare base card.

Is there a time frame for how long redemption cards can be redeemed?

Hey Jupityr, is there any update as to if PSA will accept submissions of these cards for grading?

Love this project btw, good work Smiley

Thanks for the kind words!

We have been working with Mike Baker Authenticated to get the catalog listed with PSA.  I've asked for an update, but haven't heard back on that yet.

I'm sure BGS will grade them though.  I can send Renee the checklist and answer any questions they may have.

Hey JUPITYR,

Are you able to give the community here any update regarding the discussions with Mike at PSA so collectors can have these cards graded?
I am guessing anyone receiving a Diamond would want to have it graded if possible

As long as the error doesn’t make it “look like shit” (Yoda quote) - it’s a good thing IMO. But when it does look like shit then it hurts the value as few people would want to buy it (just hardcore collectors)

What if it’s a double error?  Does that mean you’re a double fuck up? 😂😭

I don't know much about card collecting. With coins, some types of errors are good, other types impart no extra value or actually ruin the value of the coin. Would error cards be considered more collectible or less desireable here?

....Forwarding all of these errors to the printer.

If any of you get an error Gemstone card, send an email to customer service.  They can sometimes have the card reprinted or corrected.  They will of course destroy the old card if it has to be replaced.

Here is what we know so far:

It looks like a #53 Litecoin Gold was pulled in this break, but i couldn't see a number on the back when shown (possible error card)
https://youtu.be/OY5S8P4oWXs?t=5855

Does anyone know who pulled this card?

While I am not familiar with this collector/youtuber, it does appear you are correct.
There is no numbering stamp where it should be in the red circle, making this an error card
So far this is the second error refractor? the other being the out of 159 Beryl

I have an amethyst #18 without the cardsmiths logo imprinted on the back of that counts

Yes!
Please post or send me the picture if possible Smiley

Sure thing! Here ya go!

You should be careful with those screw cases, they are known to ruin cards

This is news to me, but after reading it seems the non-recessed screw downs are the culprit, ones I’m using have a recess so it’s not extra tight in there. Will probably still look into other holders

I only have a few refractors, Beryl 26, 54, 56, MR7, Emerald 16, 31, and Amethyst 31. I would be open to sell or trading one or two of them for a CS 53. What do you think will be the market value of a diamond refractor? $800 maybe?

I have a #53 CS for you. $200 is to much. I dont feel good about taking that much from you. I'm gone the next 2 days but ill PM you on Saturday and well figure something out.

And yes im thinking $500-800 for a diamond sounds like an accurate starting price. But I actually dont even think youll see one for sale. Everyone just gonna hold them.

I'll pay $200 for a CS #53 if anyone has it Wink

Are you sure you dont have one? Its one of those cards thats hard to tell. Just like #1. I had a Crystal sparkle but thought it was a base card. Im sure someone will be able to come up with one. Im checking now. Do you have any refractors for trade?
