By demand, ipoMiner has added KarpelesCoin on a direct port. The network hashrate for it isn't large enough to support our full pool hashrate, but the direct port is 3424 if you're looking for a pool. Just register on ipoMiner.com, create a worker, and then use stratum+tcp://pool.ipominer.com:3424 instead of the normal :3333 multipool port.

I cannot find a working pool to mine this on. Poolerspool seems to not be on the right network or something, xpool has only 90% efficiency, and the official pool is closed to registrations. Kind of frustrating!

You are right, people should to hold.
Coin has just launched but people is free for selling if desired.However, holding KARs is the best choice attending to mining roadmap in OP. From block #10,080 merged mining is possible and probablity to find a block will decrease exponentially.
Besides, a Reab Procedure countdown is ongoing and will start at 1st Jun 00:00 GMT. A Form for Request Rehab will be available in a few days.
