I don't think they will change the logo, they put money making it, they like it, they won't change it because some of you don't like it.
And I don't think the logo will be a problem for lisk in term of growing.

The meaning must be save, but can make it a lot cleaner. It doesn't matter now, there is still much to be done, including this

As previously stated, we will likely rebrand completely, but this will come later.

I realize that Devs busy preparing for launch, but I think it's crucial that they rebrand now before the launch and before the media and news outlets PROPAGATE the current logo across the internet.

Another important thing to consider is CONFUSION; I've seen many people get confused on exchanges and other crypto services (i.e. ShapeShift) because they keep looking for the wrong coin icon. (Remember late rebrandings of Dash/Darkcoin/Reddcoin etc. ?)

For inspiration; I'm sharing some logos that:

  • 1. Emphasize Dapps diversity on Lisk Dapp store with multiple colors.
  • 2. User friendly colors (think Google Play / Apple store /Microsot app store colors...).
  • 3. Recognizable "L" symbol on exchanges and everywhere like Bitcoin & Litecoin logos (Ethereum diamond logo is just NOT recognizable).[/b]
  • 4. Stand out from the rest of the cryptocurrencies logos, because Lisk is special.

Agree that current logo is naff. Needs to change.

Yes, current logo needs to change

I think the logo is OK, but we could have something more simplific, green color also could be nice symbolising that Lisk i more ECO friendly. "L" on the logo would make it more recognizable. Would add some modern details as well. I realy like envato logo how is  presented in intro below. In my opinion something similar tone would be great

I participated in the IPO and received the following.

Passphrase:
Address:
Public Key:

Assuming when the Blockchain is deployed this will translate to a Lisk address and I will be able to get my private key somehow?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry for dumb question.  I found my answer here:

I agree, the current lisk logo doesn't instill a sense of seriousness because it looks too amateurish, I think the colorful logos a few posts above me are more appealing. That's just my opinion

Pardon me for being stupid, but what is the value (in bitcoin's worth) of the crypti invested in the ICO (at the rate cryptic investors were given)? Trying to work out in my head and coming up with silly numbers.

Doh, sorry - maths fail for me.
Is it just over 1000 BTC or so?

So here are only some pr guy and some tools guy hoping to collect funds to hire coder to fork Crypti? Roll Eyes
Nice plan! Cheesy

Oh, again the same problem of finding delegates. Roll Eyes
1. We have implemented "forging rewards" in addition to network transaction fees, so there will be a very good incentive for running a delegate.
This tiny "rewards" never work in PoS Cry

btw, Crypty also has some rewards, but still
- I operate  36 / 101 delegates on the network (I have been the most loyal supporter of the network from day one).

If you didn't see it starik, we already forked Crypti and implemented various features into it. On the frontend and backend! You also shouldn't underestimate our abilities. Time will tell you. Wink

The rewards aren't tiny. The amount is equivalent to the forging of other crypto-currencies. In the first year 15M LISK will be generated by community run delegates, this amount will go down every year. We will issue a blog post with more details about the forging. Also Crypti doesn't have rewards. It only pays the network fees to the users.

Will you vote for me for a LISK delegate?

Yes, the team will likely rebrand the logo to look more professional. The sooner the better.

Soon is better for sure but maybe is too late, so many dollars-btc have been invested in ICO and the logo now is connected to them, maybe the same logo but more simple and same color

The current logo makes Lisk seems as a World of Warcraft Gem Store, rather than a Dapp platform.

lol yes, never thought about that, but you're right. This reminds me of the good old days when we had the Magic Internet Money and Magic exchange.

They clearly said they will "rebrand completely" at a later time:

I just think it's wiser to rebrand now, than later before hundreds of exchanges and services start using the current logo.

Point. Click. Blockchain
Do you have to be a top delegate to forge/mine like the first page implies? In other words, can holders of LISK stake them for rewards and to strengthen the network?
If you have to be a delegate to forge/mine then that means the delegates are sort of marked as far as taking down the network goes.

top 101 delegates are able to forge (Mine)

Wow, that is a bit dangerous and makes for a very insecure network, doesn't it? I mean are there 101 nodes running and staking things and no more?
Thanks for the reply.

Not really.  all delegates are voted on by the people and shady ones will be weeded out.  If a node is doing shady stuff? let the people know to unvote for them.  Keep the good workers who are making lisk better and drop those who are not.

I didn't mean I'm worried about shady delegates, I meant that the network is 101 nodes and the delegates are a sort of known entity (talking regarding governments here).
There must be something more to secure the network that 101 nodes. thx again

There will be more than 101 nodes running.  I'll have my node running as delegate or not.  As long as I support the coin, my node will be on 24/7.
