It's sad to see Lisk is now becoming shit coin and with no volume.
In my book Lisk was a top tier coin, now at lower middle and soon will drop to low end tier in volume, price and tech.

Same question as jjmv.

You guys already have $10000000+ why the need for extra funding? You say

The goal of the Community Fund is to collect LSK to guarantee decentralised, long-term development of the Lisk ecosystem.

Isn't $10000000+ enough for this? Feels a little greedy to me....

The reaction is natural and I expected it. The LSK in the Community Fund are not for us. It's intended to be used by the community in a decentralised, proposal/voting-based way. A decentralised funding vehicle for the decentralised decision tool mentioned in our roadmap.

It basically gives the community power to finance the apps/tools they really want or need. The best thing: It's voluntarily. Smiley

10% of all LSK I'll (hopefully) forge, are reserved for this fund.

My delegate proposal
Thanks for every vote!

A kind of decentralized autonomous organization for community projects. I like the idea and as a delegate, I will happily support this fund:

This guide shows you how to monitor the logfile of your Lisk node on forks. If your node forks, you'll get an email to your Android smartphone immediatly and a permanent alarm sound + vibration appears every 15 seconds unless you open your Gmail app. With this setup, you'll never miss any downtime of your node.

I like the community development fund idea!

They way I understand with the voting etc it is somewhat like a DAO? How will it be prevented that something like the DAO problems happen?

Something else you should mention here... NEARLY 100% of the delegate proposals out there right now have a % of their foraged Lisk earmarked for this community fund. Lisk team should definitely put a check in to ensure all delegates promising this shit actually deliver.... or you could quickly become the "donald trump" delegate -- promise everything and deliver nothing...

Community development is huge for Lisk. Im still holding my stack strong. Keep it up guys. But yeah delegates should be held accountable for their promises. And they should lose their designation if its proven they are not truthful.

Announcing the Community Fund

Today, we are introducing the Community Fund, which will act as a decentralized funding vehicle for new blockchain applications, third party tools and core contributions from our community.

The goal of the Community Fund is to collect LSK to guarantee decentralized, long-term development of the Lisk ecosystem. Everyone can voluntarily donate LSK to the Community Fund, however we believe the majority of the donations will come from active delegates. As described in our development roadmap we plan to develop a decentralized voting and proposal mechanism during Eternity. This tool will be utilised for all Community Fund spendings in a decentralized, community-led way... Continue Reading

Quick question from a big lisk supporter...

Isn't this what the held funds are supposed to be used for?  If not, would you please clarify the purpose of the held funds?

I will donate this community funds if I can forge.

Why are the funds held until the end of 2018? Shouldn't it be until 2017? I presume that by then there should be many apps already functional and many more in need of money to get them up and running...

So it is actually seed money for future apps? So this can be used of crowdfunding them for example?

Same question as jjmv.

Another big LISK holder and admirer, while this fund seems nice incentive it seems a little greedy from my end as well. Wouldn't it be better if community or active delegates would open such fund and not Max or Oliver? Will this fund be used for voting as well? No pun, but Max and Oliver have $10m+ for development (that should last for 5+ years and probably more if properly managed) + they have 8m of their own LISK + bounty fund that could be used as well (probably some other non-named accounts as well, and as such to much voting power as it currently is). Doesn't make any sense to me at least not currently, feels like brining even more power back to LISK team while they would need to focus on decentralizing (LISK in current state is to much centralized for my taste). Why not endorse and leave community for such things. I'll continue to support LISK, but some recent actions are a bit gray at least.

Everyone is open to start their own fund. We had this idea with the decentralised voting/proposal app and will follow this path. As you can read in the blog post we are not allowed to initiate a transaction from the account, i.e. we won't vote from it.
