I think we could start thinking about closing new registrations for the airdrops at the end of January. There has been enough time, and whoever comes in after that, will be those wanting easy profit with our dear coin.
We have to recognize those who supported the currency from the beginning.
Does anyone agree or think this would be bad?

What???

You completely missed the point of the airdrop buddy!
It's a distribution tool to get the coins in many hands as possible as fast as possible. The distribution wasn't made to make you rich buddy!

Disagree!
If you are an early BTX adopter like I am you bought your first Bitcore between $1.50 and $8, that's what will make you rich, not the airdrop!

BTW, even if you bought at $35, you still going to make lots of money.

I bought most of mine between $20 and $24 after getting some from the 1/2 for 1 airdrop. I feel I made a wise decision and the coin will continue to appreciate. And I also agree trying to shut down the airdrop faster so less people can get richer is not the point or the spirit of the airdrop. Greed is not a good character trait. Let as many people participate and benefit as possible from the airdrops and help spread the word that BTX is a great coin to invest in. That will make you much richer than a few extra airdropped coins.

@Jackbox I feel wisdom in you  Wink

Someone else noticing a slow updating wallet. Fired it up after a week and the wallet took like forever to synchronize the chain. Normally this is done in a matter of seconds... up to a minute. Never took that long before.

Right now the price of BTX is supported by the weekly airdrop. What will future hold after airdrop ended?

Frankly, that's what bothers me too a little. There seems to be a certain amount of buzz around airdrops, and that's good if you ask me, but what's next? I'm perfectly fine with SegWit and all other improvements that the devs have activated but what is really new in Bitcore? What are its killer features already implemented or still in the works if I may ask?

Don't get me wrong I'm all interested in Bitcore's success since otherwise I wouldn't be here, but what's the point actually?

Obviously, you endorse Bitcore since you are part of the signature campaign... but you're telling us that you haven't made your homework before investing?

Many good posts here about why Bitcore is superior... I suggest you start here.

What do you think is the airdrop for? It exists so that as many people as possible learn about Bitcore. Not for your profit. Do not be so greedy.

I learned at the project-meeting that one of the reasons for the airdrop is education about wallets (that they exists, how to use and why they are important) because you have to move your coins to one if you wanne join the airdrop. Some say about 75% of all coin never leave a exchange and that is far away from safe ... if you check the crypto history.

And for that we need to spread the Airdropinfo as far and as long as we can.

In my opinion we need PoS and masternodes to increase BTX interest.

An incentive to hold is a good idea.
POW + Masternodes would be my choise.
2018 will be the year of Masternodes.

Bitcore is now ranked 91 in Coinmarketcap, just saw by chance. I think it was not under the first 100 coins before, good move I must say! Also it did quite ok in the red flood the last few days. All very positive signs.

Not going to happen mate.

If something is not done, I think the airdrop will end before the end of March.  Undecided
Great, thats all the airdrop is here for.
It's not about supporting anyone. It's only about distribution, about putting the coins in as much hands as possible.
The earlier the airdrop is done the better.

I's irrelevant because volume of units for airdrop was predetermined so it doesn't change anything if we decide to close registration for new members.
The bigger the community the stronger BTX we have and more people will use/hold/suport BTX as a currency.

Only thing that you get with closing down the registration is a later date for the last airdrop because the smallest community the longer there will be BTX to airdrop for early members.

I feel a touch of comfort that BTX price is stable (to btc) during the cryptocurrencies crashing these days. I think more and more ppl will notice that BTX has big protential.

Can anyone point me to the current version of the roadmap? I happen to see this roadmap overview posted on youtube this Monday (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iYezflJiIw) but my german is non-existent. =)

Also github is really quiet. https://github.com/bitpay/bitcore. Are they committing work on a private repo?
