RTFM ;D
yes, and it seems that mars.pooler is on the "wrong" chain, too.
the Block Explorer on marscoin.org shows Block 169710. But the pool is already on 184521  Roll Eyes
the block hashes from both chains don't fit each other and aren't compatible. i've checked these numerous  Undecided

Can anybody confirm that the "long" chain is the right one?!?

Owner of Poloniex
This coin seems to be forked; is there an officially accepted correct chain? The block explorer is not on the longest chain.

why not just day-trade a little bit. i see mars ranging from 80-600 sats. sell off a few hundred or thou when it's up .. often you can buy them back later for less

I don't know what most miners are doing with mined coins, and I don't suggest dumping them for BTC on an exchange, but if they are being kept or donated to the MARS project (i.e. held), that does not help the coin's liquidity.

Exchanges will de-list any coins that are not actively traded, and for Poloniex that appears to be around 0.1 BTC volume per day. Coin's without an exchange listing don't have a rosy future.

I suggest miners should pass coins through an exchange before making them illiquid, even if it means setting up two accounts and trading with yourself. The exchange commission is very low, 0.2% + 0.01MRS on withdrawal (Poloniex).

Hi Kevin, you can use the Marscoin online import functionality to do just that. See the screenshots below:

Go to https://wallet.marscoin.org, then if you head over to the "FUND" menu section:

At the bottom of that page you can find the import form:

It might take a few moments...

Thank you I got a email from Developer Team  Smiley

The Mars Society convention was phenomenal, we'll be posting more details in a separate article. Suffice it to say, that Marscoin's donation was well received and the space community embraced the idea of (additional) funding for space projects - even if explaining cryptocurrencies, blockchain and hashing in a few minutes is a big challenge and does not always succeed :-)

Mars One wants to keep supporting our project and what made the experience especially one of a kind was the numerous Mars One candidates that are quite serious about taking Marscoin to Mars should they be selected!

There will be at least one planet in the solar system where a legacy "too big to fail" banking industry does not hamper economic progress :-)

Here are the two donation addresses, in case you'd like to donate as well:
