I did some experiments with the opencl code in cgminer_keccak.
I managed to get a little hashrate increase, nothing to write home about (0.5-2% depending on the card and intensity).

If you want to try it out, get this file:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/jc0s0gg12dpbjqu/keccak130718.cl

replace the original one in the main cgminer folder, remove all the .bin files and run the miner as usual.

hopefully the price of maxcoin will keep droping till its something like 15-20000 satoshis, then i will buy, anything over is paying for hype and the name.

dont be jerk.Miners need higher price to want mine this.If price going lower then everybody flee to others coin and your buy order will be totaly useless. No miners no future price up and you lost.
Miners mining for profit not for storing hoping that price rise.In this days when we have about hundreds altcoins storing anything is useless and day basis selling is only option.Who wait to any coin will rose to the moon in future is for me fool which loose in future.
Its my opinion.

Of course though there was a time when Bitcoin itself was only a few cents and anyone who bought them got laughed at.  Those people who did had the last laugh though, I bet they were they were laughing all the way to the bank

Mining Pool Hub
Come to our pool!

Please, mine in smaller pools rather in giant 1gh.

http://maxcoin.miningpoolhub.com

It currently serves 263.92 GH/s now.
Not too small but can mine together.

- 0% Fee
- US / Asia servers

Can mine other coins with single sign up. (sexcoin, helixcoin as well)

Please don't mine at 1gh.
1gh is a big giant dominating about 60~70% of hash power.

It's not just Maxcoin, all the alts are suffering in the wake of the MtGox fiasco.  This isn't anything new, whenever BTC takes a hit the alts do twice as badly.  It works the other way around too, when BTC shot up to $1200 Litecoin went up twice as fast, along with many of the others, even Chinacoin came back from the dead when that happened.  When the Gox story is old news the alts are likely to stop falling and hopefully start to recover.  At least Maxcoin has the advantage of using a different system, it's not just yet another Bitcoin or Litecoin clone.  Anyway, don't forget that after it's initial peak that Dogecoin just kept falling and everyone said it was a dead scam coin, look what happened to that afterwards and the only different thing that coin had in its favour was a picture of a cute dog and a few silly phrases.  (actually that dog looks to me like it's planning to bite whoever's hassling it)

Of course though it hasn't helped having MCXNow as the main trading platform, with the same couple of dozen childish trolls endlessly slagging it off and telling everyone to dump it from the moment this coin appeared.  Maybe the fact that it's now on Cryptsy will help.  Anyway, what sort of serious trading platform has a trollbox in the middle of it anyway?

Indeed, look at coins like Klondikecoin, the rewards are so low and is added on coinpayments.net, so many places where you can use Klondike coins, but still coin is so cheap, that you would even think, lets buy all the coins....

Mac wallet does not sync  Embarrassed

U can use

addnode=max.suprnova.cc

in the maxcoin.conf which should help

Thank you but I have found no maxcoin.conf file.
I looked in "library/Application Support/maxcoin" well as in the application bundle
The MaxCoin.conf file will be created when you first run the wallet app, or you can create it yourself

It's located here:
C:\Users\[Your Windows User Account Name]\AppData\Roaming\MaxCoin

I spoke about Mac OSX wallet  Grin
I see, sorry but I don't use a Mac so I have no direct experience of that.  However, from having a quick look online it seems like you're looking in the right folder, so all you should have to do is to create the MaxCoin.conf file as you would with a PC and save it in this folder:

$HOME/Library/Application Support/MaxCoin/

I'd expect that as they're both based on Unix that as with Linux the capitalisation of the folder name would be important too, unlike Windows which doesn't care.

I think I was wrong about the wallet software creating the .conf file, I think it just creates the folder and all the other files in it and you have to put the .conf file in there yourself.

Ok, the Mac OSX wallet works fine now. Thank you very much!
