Hmm do an ping test towards the pool. See if you have high latency on the connection.
For example i get 60ms from me (wireless) to max.nut2pools.com

If you are in 150+ range that could explain some of it

My hashrate are about:
415 MHs for r9 290 with engine clock 1000, memory clock 150
400 MHs for 7970 with engine clock 1200, memory clock 150

I made a mistake with memory clock, it's 1050 not 150.

Standard sgminer, not for keccak. Any miners for keccak refuses to change memory clock on r9 290 either cgminer 366 or 1gh 366 or 1gh 372.

I only fiddled with the clocks and intensity, that's all. I get a lot of rejected shares on any coin with a high block rate because of network latency from my location.

I had the same issue with my old sapphire 7950 cards. no matter what settings/coin/pool i got around 6% rejects...

Because block time is very small, 30 seconds!
That why you have so much rejections.
Bitcoin has block time 10 minutes and almost zero rejections.
It is normal.

i get your idea, but i had it on any coin. small or long block time didnt matter.
my 7970 was under 1% on the same connection/coin/pool

It's just 1150MHz core clock and intensity 13.

Worth noting is that my CPU (FX4130 quad @ 3.8GHz) is at 70% and I don't get that with scrypt mining. Maybe system i/o speeds are having an impact.
