1gh.com is down to 71% of the network hash.  That's a 5% improvement, but it's not going to cut it.  Right now we're giving this pool operator 100% control of MaxCoin.  He can double spend, he can deny other pools from getting blocks, the coin is totally centralized and vulnerable.  He is now the chairman of the MaxCoin reserve, and he has no oversight.  What happens if something happens in his family and he really needs some cash for whatever reason.  It's something that happens to all of us, except we don't all have the option of screwing random people over for thousands of dollars with no repercussions.  If we can't come together to solve this HUGE problem, then you should take this as a sign and sell all your maxcoin while you still can.

If someone could modify the P2Pool source for MaxCoin, I would be happy to host the first node with 0% fees on a fast server with a dedicated IP.  Look at the Vertcoin community, with their strong P2Pool and well distributed hash.  You other pool operators would benefit from a P2Pool network even if you don't realize it, after all a rising tide raises all ships.  As of now, MaxCoin is a failed coin.

It is old versions of wallet trying (and failing) to synchronize over and over.

I'm running the latest code from git. ( https://github.com/Max-Coin/maxcoin.git )
But some wallets on the net do not, it is them downloading blocks from yours.

Just noticed that 1gh.com has 76% of the network hash  Angry Angry Angry Angry

What the hell guys?  They're charging a 3% fee to discourage use, and still 76% !!!

Does anyone here care about the fate of MaxCoin, because if you did you would pay attention and not allow a single pool to have 76% of the network hash, that's crazy!  It opens us up to a 51% attack and sends a terrible message to the cryptocoin community at large.

I just don't understand this, I realize people are lazy, but I would expect those fees to have an effect.  BOOO!

We need p2pool.

Come to our pool.

http://maxcoin.miningpoolhub.com

Our pool is the most largest pool on the net except 1gh, but it's below 10% of net hash.
It's so sad.

Give us strength to beat the giant.

what is p2pool good for? we just need the sane miners  Smiley

DwarfPool code is updated and greatly optimized!

- Anonymous, no registration required

- True round based PPS (proportional your shares), 1% fee

- DDoS protection by different providers

- Free choice of 3 server locations worldwide US/EU/JP

- Monitoring of every rig via email

- Maxmimum transparency, no stealing shares and no hidden fees!

Anyone else notice weirdness in the maxcoin daemon?

I'm doing a research project on coin distribution for both older and new coins. I'm interested on gathering some data for top addresses and how much of the coins the top100 have. This along with the number of people (addresses) actually holding any amount of coins.

I have some info from bitinfocharts on a few coins but I really do need some data on other coins along with less exposed or new ones.

If anyone knows an explorer with this feature drop a line.
You can use this explorer and extract all addresses:
https://github.com/znort987/blockparser

Or ask Agran, examples of his work:
top100 of Twecoin http://coinia.net/twecoin/getbalance.php?top=100
top100 of MMC http://agran.net/mmc_getbalance.php?top=100
top100 of fuguecoin http://agran.net/fc_getbalance.php?top=100

Mining Pool Hub
Please spread the hash!

Maxcoin Mining Pool Hub

http://maxcoin.miningpoolhub.com

- US / Asia servers
- DDoS protected
- 1% Fee

Actually, Mining Pool Hub runs the biggest public maxcoin pool except 1gh.
reference : http://max.cryptpool.eu/

Pool hashrate is about 281GH/s, so we find block about every 7 minutes. Don't worry finding blocks.

What hash rate does a stock R9 290 achieve?

I'm doing some power tests against x11, sha-3 and Groestl and my R9 290 is doing 400 mh/s. That can't be right, right?

DwarfPool fork fixed.
But it has more then 90 connections, some other nodes are on the wrong fork yet.

is there a list of the latest nodes, or does the new wallet sync automatically?
You need to add nodes for it to sync. These are the nodes included in the configuration file with the wallet:

Code:
addnode=node.maxcoin.co.uk
addnode=wombat.dar.sh
addnode=94.23.80.59
addnode=198.50.155.236
