Lately I seem to be gravitating towards AI articles.

The strategy it uses is surprisingly simple.

Just as I've told you.

Let's target Christmas weekend to release it?

That would be great.
Alright! I'm glad things haven't stopped.

So we're going to create a new thread?

Just some news.

I gave bot source to HMC 1.5 weeks ago. Don't know if he tried it or not.

Maybe he will announce something soon...

I've been away from bitcointalk.  I've received your bot code, and will be looking it over and trying it out in the coming days.  The strategy it uses is surprisingly simple.

Hmm, lets hope he is making the wallets.

I was thinking about creating a poll for weather we should make a new thread but at this point we pretty much have to if williamlie2 isn't coming back. I think it's better anyway because more people will look at the new thread.

Please reply and tell me your opinion of all this.

Personally, I think it is not a bad idea.  Although I've held out hope that William would return to us, it doesn't seem to be happening.

Oh, that reminds me, we should also fork the GitHub, unless that is under control? I am not so sure of this.

The github is fine, I'm still on the project there.  I'll leave it in place as is, sort of as a "keeping the lights on" in case William does some day return. (If it does become a problem somehow in the future we can always fork it later.)

I just thought of a great idea. Sorry to bump the thread, but I think this deserves its own post.
Anyway...

What if on the release of the public bot, HunterMinerCrafter creates a new forum thread to commemorate the occasion.

It will catch the attention of lots more people and some will probably mine. This will jumpstart the process of bot mining and improve the security of the network drastically.

It would be even better if ElvenArcher privately gave HMC the function, and then HMC compiled all of the miners and then released the download links on the new thread's OP. That way everyone that sees the thread can start mining straight away and we won't lose any early viewers. It would also bring back our control of the original post. As you can see the current OP has unavailable pictures. These pictures should be replaced in the new OP, and when they do, Motocoin will look a whole lot more attractive to newcomers.

Please reply and tell me your opinion of all this.

Also, since the website expired, you can go here: www.playcoin.info
I'll make it so that this website reflects motocoin's GitHub webpage not a fork I made. (Not different to motocoin's website, but it won't be updated anymore)

Oh, that reminds me, we should also fork the GitHub, unless that is under control? I am not so sure of this.

Anyway thank you for reading this, please remember to reply with your opinion.

Come on guys, if you'real lurking on this thread we'd love to hear if you would use the public bot to mine and secure the network.

I'll go and contact my friends (from Motocoin) to see if they want to mine.

Are there any volunteers to be ready to do a build, as well?

Same as my previous post applies: I'd be willing to test/try new things and even run them 24/7 if it works on an ARM system (and if there are instructions on how to do so: my compiling knowledge is very basic, not much beyond compiling a cryptocurrency wallet Smiley)

I'm planning to release the source code of my bot (the best version I currently have, although very simple).

I'm glad, but curious as to what changed your mind!

After the release I will definitely not be able to get >50% anymore and guarantee the security of moto, so it will be up to community.

As well it should be!
Although you are correct that this would be a delicate and critical transition, I really do believe that it is for the best in the long run.

To ensure minimal safety of this process I want at least 5 people to write here that they are ready to mine moto 24/7 at least for the first two weeks.

I think you mean minimal risk?  Wink
Yes, we will want the hash-rate to distribute as much as possible quite quickly.  However, I am confident that the community will handle it well.

HMC, can you insert my solver into your bot and compile it for Windows and Linux? I can give you a function that just tries to solve a level with specific nonce.

Then, I think you could make password-protected archive with all that stuff, upload it and reveal the password at some specific date and time.

Yes, this sounds quite reasonable to me.  Ideally, we would also want to get a few people to again do the gitian build dance.  We could release the protected archive of binaries together with the modified source, and announce the build hash in advance of the password.  Then at the pre-disclosed time we would release the password, unlocking both the bot and it's source, and users could confirm the build.  At this time we would probably also want to merge the bot into the reference client on github.

Are there any volunteers to be ready to do a build, as well?

So you're the one that's been running the bot? And the one who also posted a Windows bot with a throwaway account earlier?

I'd be willing to run a bot 24/7, not sure for how long, if you post the source code and if I can compile it for an ARM processor.

I can mine 3 hours a day, so not really 24/7 but it's something.

Edit: Now would be a good time to invest because mining is easy and it will soon get harder but more profitable.

As of now you can buy 120 000 motocoins for 0.09 btc. And that's at 72 satoshis each.

I believe it is 120 but I am not sure. That was actually just a guess, I have no idea.

The COINBASE_MATURITY value is set at 100 blocks.  The additional 20 blocks no longer applies, IIRC.  I will have to double check this.  (You might be right, it might be 120.  Well, it is one of these two values, in any case.)

It seems awfully quiet here, any development going on?

Not really.  Personally, I've had very limited time lately.  I'd certainly dedicate some time to reviewing and potentially merging a patch proposal, but don't have anything sufficiently developed to propose yet, myself.

Our supposed bot operator has gone quiet again, without ever actually establishing himself as having domain over the bot.  (Would anyone else like to step forward and try to claim it?)  Wink

Hi MOTOCoin Members,  i had a few questions about specs.

1.  Confirm received?
2.  Confirm rewards?
3.  Max coin cap?

  • Blocks are generated on average every 60 seconds.
  • The reward for solving a block starts at 20 motocoins, which is halved every 1'000'000 blocks (about two years) and stops decreasing at 0.4 motocoins per block.
  • Mining difficulty is adjusted every 2000 blocks through lowering the target time if blocks took less than an average of 60 seconds to generate, or raising the target time if blocks took longer than that.
  • ≈40 million coins are to be generated during the first 12 years and ≈200,000 coins per year after.

ty for the help!  but i was wondering how many confirms before spending a received coin in qt wallet?  how many confirms before spending a mined reward?

btw its ok ty for the help
