I don't fully understand why do we have 2 websites?

https://nycoin.community/ seems to be ahead, it supports https and has meta description + keywords filled and is also linked from CMC.

But http://newyorkcoin.net/ is much higher in google search results and supports more languages. So why do we run both?

Wouldn't be better to have just 1 site which has all?

https://nycoin.community/ is the official community site with the dev team behind it. 100% community driven.

http://newyorkcoin.net/ (and this ANN) is run by only one guy. An early miner and supporter, pushing the coin in his direction on his own terms and no dev behind.

The coin was basically forgotten and dead until mid-2017 and .net guy made some efforts to revive and gain some awareness. A new rising community and dev's finally came on board late 2017/jan 2018 in big numbers after crypto got media attention. But soon noticed that the coin image was run by only one guy with no dev skills hyping it, owning all the previous sites, making all the decisions and did not want anyone else to interfere like he owned the coin. So, after numerous failed attempts from the new community and dev's reaching out to team up and run this together, the community and dev's had to break loose and create their own sites. NYCoin is a 100% decentralized community driven coin, by the community for the community and not just by one man. The new website design was given to .net guy from the new community as a last attempt to team up and show what the community and dev's could do together to help lift the coin off the ground. That failed again as he started to do a lot of changes to it against the community's will, still spreading hype and false news and using abusive language towards other members. They eventually gave up and created their own sites so that the community and dev team could run it together and be transparent. In just 3 months they have done more work than the last 4 years, so, nycoin.community site would be the preferred site if you want real news and updates and not just spam and hype.

Do I understand correctly that you are trying to compete with bitcoin? it is very interesting to know what you are different about? bitcoin is a strong coin.
If competitive with Bitcoin, NYC will be a very praiseworthy coin but it is still theoretical. At present, only ETH is thought to be able to compete with bitcoin.

Yes, I understand that. That's why I'm interested. it seemed to me that this coin wanted to be a competitor to bitcoin. maybe I misunderstood something?

I may be speaking out of turn, I'm not part of the team but, I don't think being a competitor to Bitcoin is really the goal. NYC appears to be aiming at being a real world (brick and mortar) payment system. This may have been Bitcoin's original goal but that is shifting to being a "store of value" more than a payment system for day to day "in person" purchases.

Well, it's interesting to listen to your opinion thanks. I would also like to know what the team will say) they still have more information than we

If you want to meet the team, visit the official site https://nycoin.community (check coinmarketcap) and go to the bottom and join the discord channel. there you can ask questions directly to the dev team or community. over 1400 members so far. Also a new bitcointalk

I don't think your speaking out of turn at all.  Bitcoin is too slow for brick and mortar retail.  New York coin is the new crytpo to be accepted by all retail establishments in the USA and around the world.  I think a bit more dev needs to be done to make it easier for the business to stream line NYC transactions.  I don't think we have a coin to compete with bitcoin, we have a coin to demolish bitcoin in the area of brick and mortal establishments. Time to think Gorilla marketing.  Lets get a fund going to send post cards out to every viable place in the greater New York Area to start.  Post cards to explain what NYC is about and welcome them to visit the NYC center. Boom, my mind is blown.  Tongue  The Exchanges will be begging us to be listed.

You make some great points, sorry if my post seemed I was complaining.  I should have worded it differently.  I offered my insight to try and help.  Would I take 50% cut in my coins absolutely if it helps the coin grow and be more appealing at the retail level.  The point I was trying to make is it might seem confusing for a green NYC owner or purchaser to walk in a outlet and pay 100K coins for a small purchase.  I have been telling all my family and friends about this coin.  Any word on official NYC apparel?  I would like to order some for family and friends.  Nothing like advertising on a t-shirt, summer is around the corner and lets all purchase one and wear it proudly and help support the project.  Devs and everyone helping with this project are doing fantastic work.  Maybe in the future we can schedule certain meetings online and use gotomeeting or something.  I have paid web hosting for the year with nothing to use on it currently.  Thinking about getting a domain and help with the online marketing.  If anyone has any ideas or a web developer hit me up..  I would like to make a great site and market it to promote NYC.

If you are not a dev working on code AND WANT TO HELP VALUE OF NYC, get more merchant acceptance! Make some stickers and get the business to post it on their front door, download Coinomi wallet, print out QR code and laminate on their counter/register/tables/etc. I will add their business info to newyorkcoin.net to get their business additional exposure and owner receives 100,000 NYC free! Max supply or circulating coins is not the problem. Awareness is the problem! GO OUTSIDE AND TALK TO BUSINESSES IN YOUR AREA. Merchant acceptance is the key to making NYC real. Will YOU help NYC?...

Just a little note to the complainers and those who see lots of things they don't like but offer no constructive ideas: This coin was dead/all but dead just a short time ago. If it wasn't for the dedication and hard work of the current developers, it would be totally worthless. And, those who want to cut the supply to increase the price, are you offering to give up half your coins? Go to CoinMarketCap and sort the list by "Circulating Supply" you will find coins with bigger supplies that are worth more than NYC. This metric means less all the time.

Want to make your holdings more valuable? Get out there and PROMOTE NYC! This project needs users and investors, technical innovations and public involvement. Get the name out, promote the coin and you will see an increase in value. After all that, we can discuss cutting the supply...
