Is there any update from Yobit on updating wallets? I seen on twitter where other projects are having the same issue with Yobit. They paid and Yobit never updated in some cases Yobit asked them to pay more when they refused Yobit wouldn't give them a refund. It seems like Yobit is scamming projects out of there money. I hope this isn't the case with NYC because we could really use the volume that yobit has with the expected Bull run coming.

you don't have to trust anyone. you can find a better alt-coin to invest in at a lower price... (good luck!)

seriously, you should contact NYC Devs directly. MrSlosh can be PM'd here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/mrslosh-1610973 and would have more info about your questions.

more and more nodes/wallets in Japan and Korea.

NYC is spreading worldwide...

You failed to answer a very important question:

Which of the fingers in the Github cookie jar deleted the nyc wallets and replaced them with ones infected with malware?

To put it another way, at least one person on the NYC team pushed or uploaded infected wallets. This person had access to the repo; that is, he was trusted enough to have login details including a password, and knowledge of the email used to set up the repo.

So ... how the hell can anyone trust NYC given there is a hacker spreading malware and he is actually on the NYC team?

Trade Satoshi was hit by 51% attack and NYC appear to be have been double-spent to acquire unearned ETH. This attack that occurred before the hardfork may have been due to malware that infected some github downloads of 1.3.1.17 wallets. Since this incident, restrictions and added safeguards have been implemented on NYC github repository. Too many fingers were in the cookie jar.

Coinmarketcap has already removed Trade Satoshi since they are no longer trading NYC.

BiteBTC is adding NYC trading pairs (using updated code) by Monday, Nov 12th. Ranked #65 on Coinmarketcap!

Well, which of these fingers in the cookie jar deleted the nyc wallets and replaced them with ones infected with malware?

It would be pretty easy to find out.

Or is this more bullshit?

WARNING: NewYorkCoinMiner is a scammer

Please note that the poster called NewYorkCoinMiner is a scammer. He makes multiple posts daily asking for BTC.

Tradesatoshi (below) made this comment about the NYC scam: "[T]he person behind this attack is also manipulating the market through social media and chatrooms so they may profit more from the situation."

I am publishing the statement here.

$NYC 51% attack, market manipulation, swap and refund

First statement regarding $NYC 51% attack, swap and refund from Tradesatoshi
51% attack

On October 20 2018 Tradesatoshi’s $NYC wallet was hit by a 51% attack, an unknown person using multiple fake accounts deposited a large sum of $NYC and then later sold these coins on the ETH market.

Our research team is still investigating, we believe it was someone that is close to the New York Coin team and is active on the Discord and Telegram chats.

At the time of the attack Tradesatoshi was running the latest $NYC wallet version 1.3.1.17 that can be found here
https://github.com/NewYorkCoin-NYC/nycoin/releases/tag/1.3.1.17

The attacker left a trail of evidence that we are now investigating.
Market manipulation

We believe that the person behind this attack is also manipulating the market through social media and chatrooms so they may profit more from the situation. We also believe that another Exchange was the victim of a similar attack that took place on October 19 2018.
Swap

Tradesatoshi will swap $NYC New York Coin for $NYRT New York Refund Token at a rate 1:1

The new $NYRT will be an ERC20 token.
The swap will take place today November 5th 2018
Refund

Tradesatoshi will buy back all the $NYRT from its users, a deadline will be announced soon.
The new $NYRT will be an ERC20 token.
Users who want to help Tradesatoshi should just keep their $NYRT and no sell them or withdraw to any offsite wallets.
The price and terms are still to be set, we will buy at a price similar to the rate prior to when the attacker deposited and sold the $NYC on Tradesatoshi.

Sorry about your loss. Never keep crypto on an exchange during a hardfork. The announcements for months were very clear warning against that.

Latest update from NYC Devs: 1.3.1.18 WALLET SYNC SOLUTION

The biggest issue is that it would get to a seemingly random block (different one for each of those involved) and just stop syncing. They would still have connections, but they would no longer sync. We have been trying to work out the root cause but in the meantime it seems the best work around is to do the following steps:

1. Close the wallet if it's running
2. Delete the peers.dat file and the blocks and chainstate folders from the data folder
3. Download the bootstrap from http://blog.nycoin.community/downloads/bootstrap.dat.zip
4. Unzip the bootstrap file and copy the bootstrap.dat file into the data directory
5. Open and edit the newyorkcoin.conf file in the data directory, remove all existing addnode lines and replace them with the following:
addnode=46.250.220.175:17020
addnode=62.213.218.23:17020
addnode=62.213.218.8:17020
addnode=76.95.178.229:17020
addnode=85.90.245.151:17020
addnode=136.144.215.219:17020
addnode=178.128.204.141:17020
addnode=178.118.21.128:17020

setban=73.179.138.124:17020
setban=104.239.230.131
setban=74.56.54.141
6. Save the conf file and restart the wallet. This will import the block data from the bootstrap file (which can take around 4 hours to complete) and connect you to stable nodes.
