The only time I saw a room like that it was a "clean room"

They were using "name" facilities for manufacturing so it's entirely possible that it's part of Fujitsu's facility.

And yeah, everyone needs to realise that customs issues can bring shit undone at the final hurdle.  When the first unit arrives in a customer's hands, people can relax a bit - although you can still have customs issues with specific countries.

Anyone know what the lowest order number is? Does anyone have an order number below 200000100?
Yeah, way lower.  My BFL order is # 8812.  Grin

@MrTeal

what is on pic. #4? is this facility WC? or this is ASIC?

Not sure exactly, but it looks very similar to an insulated heat room used for storing things that should be kept hot and dry (IE PCBs before stuffing) as well for burn in testing. Maybe someone can read the Chinese on the door.

Random Aside - A previous employer of mine had one that look very similar to that, and it was the creepiest thing. If I ever need to torture some terrorist in order to foil there evil plot, I'd do it in that room. The combination of 50C temperatures, low ceiling, complete white walls and bright fluorescent lights was extremely unpleasant.

12 a day, those guys assemble devices by their bare hands  Grin
They are not Toyota, what do you expect of a small operation?
did you saw picture they post, it's not small, a lot of machine
What picture are you talking about?
It's understandable that you missed it like 5 pages back:

It's about a 4U height, and can be fitted with adapters to make it rack mountable.

I don't get why Avalon feels the need to mimic BFL in the shadiness of whether or not their devices have actually shipped. Why not show some proof to ease people's worries??

A couple pictures of the device are worthless to us... lets see a screenshot of the miner hashing away plugged into a kill-a-watt. Ya'll say people won't believe you, but honestly it's better than NOTHING!

And then? It's not like Avalon takes orders. No orders, no need for marketing.

Shhhhh. I need some ASIC porn to get off to.  Wink Wink Grin

Plus... why not claim cablepair's bounty while they're at it... kill two birds with one stone.  Wink

Those machines are not going to be dedicated to Avalon. They're just going to be the machines that actually populate the components on the PCBs. That is probably going to be one of the quicker and less labour intensive parts of the process. Looking at that case, I would guess the holdup is actually assembling all the units together, as well as doing the paperwork for each one.

I can't wait to see pictures in order to see what's inside.

Considering the today love relationship between China and Japan, and how fast you can upset this guys from Avalon, I am afraid you're done with them.. Cheesy

After some pointers from Mr. Teal I changed my assumptions and have a new estimate for Jeff's earnings from the first ever ASIC hasher:

9.6 ASIC choices: WWJE update

Good luck hearing back from anyone at Avalon.

Both Dust and I have been trying to contact them about our orders which show up as canceled (even though we paid months ago) but none of their support channels seem to work.

Since my post was moved wholesale with the bounty discussion I have to ask again:

Are customers being contacted prior to having their units shipped? Because I need to set straight a couple of things before my units leave. I sent several e-mails regarding this in the past couple of weeks and even opened a ticket on support.avalon-asic.com , but I have yet to receive a response on either channel.

Also, I reiterate my earlier question - do the units have some sort of LCD display on them, to monitor temperatures and stuff at a glance or was it scrapped from the project? That is, if it was planned in the first place.
