If I place an order now, would it be shipped on or shortly after the 7nd? Or is that batch already fully pre-ordered?

BTW, anyone got the coupons or the 7.7% refund? How does it work?

I originally bought S3's from batch 2. When I placed my order for the batch 5 units the option to use a coupon and get a 7.7% refund had gone and I had 2 coupons to use on my next S3 purchase.

I bought a pair of S3's last week and used 1 coupon and paid 1.286 BTC. I still have 1 coupon left.

I've still heard nothing from Bitmain about my 180Ghs S3 Sad

Sent a few more support requests with screen shots of the GUI showing 1 chain and 180ghs hashing speed.

I'm hoping they will send a replacement when I receive my batch 5 order.

If I'm honest I don't think they are going to do anything about the faulty S3 I have Sad

With no replies to my support requests it's unlikely I will be getting a replacement sent with my latest order.

Try opening the device and check that all cables are connected.

Bitmain is a good company, pretty much right now the only good company out there in regards to miner manufacturing. No worries
I agree, Bitmain always delivered, product does as it should and doesn't breakdown.

Slightly concerned that I've heard nothing for a few days now.

I've had no more emails from Bitmain other than order confirmation from batch 5 Sad

I just got my Batch 5 shipping confirmation. 5 days ahead of schedule... ! YES!  Grin

I heard back from Bitmain support about my batch 2 S3 with only 185ghs of hashing power. They suggested flashing with the latest firmware. Unfortunately this didn't work Sad

Still only shows chain #1 in the web GUI Sad

I am awaiting their reply on the problem not being fixed by flashing the firmware.

BTW! I noticed that there is an optional firmware on the Bitmain website to stop the annoying bleeps!

The file is on the Bitmain site here: https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=007201407180243004432lBQW28O0633

I updated the firmware on the working S3 and it has stopped bleeping Smiley

I placed another order so hoping a replacement can be sent with the new order Cheesy

I will update on the support request progress.
I got my first S3 from batch 2 too and all is ok. Acually hashing the most part of time is over the average.

AntMiner Jumper Switch- Bitcoin Miner Accessory

Global Sales start on July 31, will close on August  6th. Shipping starts on August 27th.

PC Power Supply has been widely used to power Bitcoin Miners, but users have to use the paper clip or other metal line to short blue line and black line of the PSU 24 pin interface before powering Bitcoin Miners. It is troublesome thing to short lines, and may lead to unstable power supply.

Here we are glad to introduce a new Bitcoin Miner Accessory - AntMiner Jumper Switch, which is to provide a convenient and effective method to start PSU. Only need to connect it to the PSU 24 pin interface, then press the “Switch”.

Only Available at http://www.bitmaintech.com

Will it be possible to order small quantities (1-4) with the purchase of the miners? That way shipping costs would be 0, just drop them into the existing package.

Excellent product at an excellent price.

This is much better and more reliable than the other wire shorting adaptera and paper clips.

Except the MOQ is 500. Do you really need 500?

I have purchased similar adapters on eBay

Reserved for Q&A and Updates

1. Will there be upgrade parts for S1 and S2?

Yes, there will be. But we still need to solve some production/testing problem before we finalize the plan and public it.

Is possible for the s2.

For the s1 what could they salvage if the chips and boards are diff?  There is only the small controller board with ethernet jack, custom aluminum heat sink, frame and fans.

I think you've outlined all of the reusable parts.  I'm just the messenger, BITMAIN themselves have indicated there will be an S1 upgrade path.

According to Bitmain they will have upgrade kits coming out for the s-1 and the s-2 in due time.  Just was wondering the time line is all.

How would you upgrade any s1 or s2? Totally different chips and voltage requirements. I think it would be highly improbable and impossible to upgrade, these aren't socket chips but soldered and the traces on the pcb are different.  Maybe if you had an S2 kit, then perhaps you could use the daughter board to plug in hash boards, but that  is about it.

By golly, you stumbled upon the answer to your own question!  New PCBs.

Shutting down the s1 is not a good idea if it can still mine coins at lower cost than electricity as the only constant is increasing difficulty.

Basically it depreciates at every difficulty jump.  So mine it now before it is obsolete

Or do what I plan.

My son goes back to college in a couple of weeks and has FREE electric in his dorm. I'm packing 2 S1's and a 850W PSU for him to take to school and run for me. If he can get anyone on his floor to agree, I'll bring 2 more S1's when I go to visit him.

You think your son and his roommates is gonna be thrilled about the noise/heat it creates?

They are thrilled, they plan to use the bitcoins earned to pay for their beer!!
