I don't think ASICs have cracked x11 or x13 yet. FPGAS maybe, but could be rumors.
Mostly there is just a ton of gpu hash that hasn't had much to do since scrypt became asic land.

Edit: plus OP says x13 and postrength is " asic proof".
So yeah, probably just tons of gpu farms.

I read your comment... Who said anything about stopping them? Regulation wont stop them, but it will provide a means for legitimate companies/coins to pursue legitimate ventures.

Plus until Bitcoin can bypass the USD completely we'll always be tied to uncle sam one way or another.

So basically you just want a "coin" with a central authority like a company or uncle sam in control and you want this to be regulated by the government...There's this thing called Visa, and don't forget to check out mastercard it's right up your alley. But be careful you don't use them for something not approved of by the kings in power, if you try to play poker on the internet your Mastercard won't work you don't have permission to use your own money unless the regulators give approval..that's how they make you safe.

It's so hard to mine now. It doesn't look like rentals; otherwise, I'd be so poor renting so many rigs. Are there asic miners out there that can mine X13 now?

But I would like the coin to have a chance to survive on it's own merits, and not get ruined by people that will come in and freak out simply because the dev may be asleep or busy working.

One extra official can help, just by popping in if the dev can't.
