Alex,
Apart from wallet fix, what about the Enigma and Smart property.
Any time line from the dev?
Enigma's codebase has already been written, it's just a matter of making it work with the current Keycoin code, as well as polishing the UI elements that have to go along with it. Smart contract integration is still conceptual at this point, but we don't think that it will be overly difficult to implement.
Also, we are talking to a few other developers who may be interested in joining the team (no, not from RIPO). That would help immensely with the timeliness of our updates and fixes, as well as allow us to explore even more functionality aside from anonymity features and smart contracts.
The reason this update did not progress smoothly once dynamic interest became a factor again is because dynamic interest doesn't even work on the coin we forked from. Yes, this is our fault and we should have been more conscious of how dynamic interest worked poorly with other coins. But now we may end up creating a system that hasn't ever been implemented in the way we are trying to, which would be a plus.As for other features, the Keycoin code gives us access to coin mixing functionality, which we may appropriate as part of Enigma, at least partially. We still want to review how well it works among other factors.
Further smart contract features are up to you guys, and as of yet I haven't seen any proposals for features outside of what was outlined in the whitepaper.
As I said before GuerillaCoin (the first PoStr coin) had all sorts of issues with this. I'm too lazy to dig around, but just browse through their thread to the part when PoW ended and Bittrex froze the wallets. I will admit that a decentralized interest rate (although capped) is a very interesting concept, but it does seem to create problems in coins. I know economics is a boring concept to this subforum, but I don't think there has been a debate yet on how 1% vs. 8% would effect supply and price or how the rate (and price) could be manipulated by coin holders with multiple wallets.
If I were dev I would be buying my own coin. If he implements half of what's in the whitepaper he's looking at multiplying his investment several times over.
Even when the wallet is updated, the dev will need to implement a working Enigma rather quickly to gather the attention of the community again.
I disagree. I would hype it for a few days. Markets respond more favorably to things they know are coming at a certain time than when things are sprung on them without preparation. If I suddenly tell you I have a quantum computer that fits in your hand it's going nowhere if there are only a handful of people here reading my posts.
