That was a great response. I am glad you are trying to maximize profits for regular miners. Now all we need is for you to auto convert them to btc for us, so we won't make mistakes of selling at the wrong time or price Smiley

I do not know if it would be possible but could you add a feature to exclude different coins on the multi port. We would check a box and when the pool switched coins if it was going to an excluded coin it would stay on the last coin or move to the next most profitable.

I like the idea, but unfortunately it isn't possible without redesigning our entire stratum architecture from scratch.

One thing to note is that not all coins for an algorithm are enabled on its' multiport. I hand select which coins are enabled for multiport mining, and take a variety of factors into consideration including buy support, price trends, average difficulty, etc. For example, there's not much value in mining a coin that has a declining price trend and takes a long time for blocks to mature, or a coin with high difficulty since switching on/off of it will likely produce very few blocks.

(Note that most multipools do not do perform the same level of research and hand selection of coins for multiports - its all about a block's profitability for them, which is problematic since the price of a coin at the time of mining and time of selling typically varies substantially.)

If there is a particular coin you're trying to avoid right now, I'm happy to consider removing it from multiport mining if there's a good reason.

Ack! My seedcoin disappeared! Did we fork or something? Shocked Had it set to move to wallet at .0041 but it just vanished and got no withdrawal confirm. Looks like unconfirmed is just vanishing now, maybe we are forked. WTF!

I don't see any issues with SeedCoin currently. There had been forks previously yesterday and the day before, but nothing that seemed to impact us heavily. If you want to hop on IRC to explain the issue in real time, we're in ##ipominer on Freenode -- or please email [email protected].

GhostCoin has been removed from mining about 30 minutes ago. To clarify, the problem with it wasn't that it didn't finish its POW at block 5000, because only its POW blocks counted towards the POW block limit and there were about 50% POS blocks. The problem with the code is that they removed the check on PoW block reward amount, and then ran their own pool which allowed them to create larger than normal blocks.

Normally the network verifies the block amounts, but it wasn't being verified because they removed the check for it in the code. This is a similar exploit mechanism as USBCoin used, although the codebase is not the same so it wasn't readily detected. They also put up a block explorer which intentionally hid their blocks that were mined over the standard block reward.

Hi Ipominer,
check the ghost coin ann thread, apparently there is a problem in code, which means it did not finish POW after block 5000, and the coin is now disabled on Bittrex.
May be worth to remove from MP, as mining it may be risky, I`m going to work so don't have time to read about whole situation regarding ghost right now.

SeedCoin has had mandatory/urgent updates recently, which I've applied, but there have been a few forks on its network. I have had to resync the blockchain once to get back onto the main blockchain after it forked.

It seems okay for now, but mine it at your own risk - it could fork again. I'm going to disable sending payouts for at least the next 8 hours, to make sure the network is stable and coins won't be lost on withdrawal.

Hoes does the staking at SEED work? Do I need to have my wallet turned ON 24/7 in order to get maximum of it? Thanks.

My understanding is that you shouldn't need to have it open 24/7, until your first coins would be eligible to stake. But its probably best to ask the SeedCoin developers directly since their coin works a bit differently than a standard interest rate POS coin.

It looks like Triangles' code/blockchain have finally been fixed and are working again. I have reset all the saved TRI withdrawal addresses, so you won't accidentally withdraw to one on an older wallet somewhere.

When Bittrex has upgraded their wallet and I can verify that transactions are working, I'll re-enable withdrawals for TRI.

There was a short outage on the frontend web server earlier today for about 10 minutes, which did not affect mining or stratum services. The outage was caused by a fault in a switch on the datacenter's internal network and has been resolved by them.

I added two new coins today, with new coin override on their respective multiports at launch - SeedCoin (SEED) and GhostCoin (GHOST).

SeedCoin (SEED) is now available for mining on scrypt direct port 3468.
GhostCoin (GHOST) is on X11 direct port 3632, and will likely stay on the X11 multiport for a while as long as difficulty remains reasonably low.

Take a minute to note the particular details of SeedCoin's initial staking, if you haven't familiarized yourself with it yet. You'll probably want to withdraw coins as soon as possible to a local wallet to maximize coin age. (Their POS interest has a unique initial period beginning at block 10100 with extremely high daily interest.)

Hi ipominer,
today you added seed coin on your MP, but the reward for the coin is only 0.1 per block distributed inbetween the miners. On the other hand, minimal payout is possible to be set on 10 coins as the lowest and the manual cash out is stating 0.001 will be deducted as network fee.

The SeedCoin payout minimum and txfee will be fixed shortly. The first blocks we mined will mature soon - it takes 120 to be confirmed.
Oki, thanks, as it is important to stake first 7 days after the POW period.

Hi,
are you sure DOGE merged mining is working fine? Till 12 hours ago I was mining in another merged pool and I was getting up to 1000 Dodges everyday. Now I got 15 in 12 hours with the same 11 Mhs.

The rest of merged coins seems to have a similar incoming rate.

Yes, DOGE merged mining is working fine. We simply don't have a lot of scrypt hashrate relative to the difficulty of mining Dogecoin. DOGE difficulty has been averaging around 12-14k for the past few days, making it 4-5x more difficult to find blocks on than the other merged mineable coins like SYS, PTC, and ULTC.

With 500-1000Mh of scrypt hashrate, you would expect to find between 0.66-1.3 DOGE blocks per day, which means there will be a lot of variation in DOGE blocks at our hashrate levels. Its entirely possible to see multiple blocks in a single day, or zero for a week or more, depending on block finding variance.

The block reward on DOGE was also just cut in half to 31,250 per block.

Oh, I didn't know the reward had just been reduced. Anyway in the long run, both pools should give the same amount of doge. Let's wait.
Thanks.
