Where are you getting the KAR rate from? 0.00676456

Can't seem to find an exchange with open buy orders for any decent rate.

PM for journalist, typing, and data entry services.
We started mining ISR yesterday when it was at 0.00005200. It is now at 0.00061000 -- we have done exceptionally well with it, indeed Smiley And it doesn't look like the ISR ride is over yet.

If it becomes the next aurora (hits $90 or so) and I knew about it and I DIDNT mine it  Cry

When did this pool start mining IZRA? Seems like if you started mining since yesterday you would make 10x as much as LTC mining

Correct. We use the last trade price reported by the exchange at the time of polling their API -- no averaging/etc. on our side at the moment. We may add in some historical averaging for price and difficulty in the future.

Thanks for your fast reply!

Ah okay so normally it's "last Price" what is displayed. I agree with you that this makes sense, it Shows the very last Price, no matter if someone paid that Price to buy or to sell something. It's a good average. But as we tend to be on the "selling-side" only I thought to tell you about my viewing. I think this is only causing a real Problem with the 0,00000001-0,00000009 coins because with These coins a single step could make up to 50% more or less Profit what's a huge difference for me as a short-time-holder.

I'm very glad that I'm not completely stupid and that you've also thought about that "Problem".

My vote goes for "best bid" :-D

Honestly, it isn't too much work for us to double check your displayed Prices with the Prices from the different exchanges (the Price updating works perfectly fast).
Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to mine a nice selection of coins!!

@adaseb I've updated the site's listing of the number of confirmations required. ISR actually requires 260 confirmations. Originally we had it set to 120, but unfortunately the ISR wallet requires 260 confirmations for blocks to mature so we had to change it to that. Sorry for the confusion there.

@TXSteve We do often mine coins that are near the top of the MintPal voting list. By the time a coin has reached the top of Cryptsy's lists it is usually popular enough that it is on Coinwarz and mining profitability for it has been driven down to 0.004 btc/mh/day or below.

@Reese212 We use last price, which is what the majority of people, pools, and exchanges use. I tend to agree with you that another method might be more reliable -- some options include using best bid directly, an average of best bid and last price, or a type of moving average. Note that some prices may be as old as 10 minutes, depending on the frequency the exchange allows us to make calls to their API. We update prices from most exchanges every 1 minute - I think AllCrypt is the only one at 10 minute update intervals.

@precrime3 Unfortunately, very few scrypt coins will actually have a future.. we mine what is profitable for the short term, which ISR seems to be. Trying to guess which scrypt coin will be around and at higher prices in 6 months than it is today with any certainty would leave you with *maybe* one coin -- Litecoin. Even then, it could easily fall -- just look at Bitcoin's value.

why not mine what is near the top of the cryptsy vote list?

Hey are the ISRA confirmations stuck at block 25137, it says only 120 block confirmation times but many of the newer blocks are still unconfirmed

Very nice mining pool, thanks for your great work ipominer!

There's one question I'd like to ask: is it possible to change the "Exchange rate"-section on your Website?
For Piggycoin it Shows that the current Exchange rate is 9 Satoshi. But that's not really correct, I checked the Exchange an there is a sell-order for 9 Satoshis, but the highest buy-order for piggycoin is 5 or 6 Satoshis (depending on Exchange). So in order to provide an accurate profitability on your Website I think it would be better to Show us the best BUY-orders, not the best SELL-orders.

For Karpelescoin it works, your Website Shows the best buy-orders to me.

For LOVEcoin it seems to be different, it Looks like showing an average of buy-and sell-orders.

Am I doing it completely wrong :-) ? Sorry for complaining, sometimes I'm confused, I'd appreciate if you could explain it to me.

Thank you!

Mining newer coins will always provide an advantage in terms of profitability. As larger 200MH+ scrypt ASICs come onto the scene, GPU miners will likely have to shift to other algorithms. Personally, I have two GPU rigs currently and am not planning on selling them anytime soon.

I'm very new to this, and have tried my hand at mining with IPO for the past week or so. Thanks for the service, so for the experience has been great. I guess the big question is, what happens when the scrypt ASICS hit in 2-3 months? Do we sell our rigs? Just swap over to scrypt-n? Will it still be worth mining these IPO coins?

@jaft16 Yes, we'll add other algorithms in the future, including X11.

Yes, we'll be adding alternative algorithms soon - starting with scrypt-n. Equally though, you can say the same thing about any coin on any algorithm. There will likely only be a handful of long-term success stories per algorithm.

Ahh okay. Have you considered alternative algos such as x11 or scrypt-n (seem to be promsiing)? Or you sticking to scrypt?
