I think it is a good decision, spread the coin between more people. Expecting many questions how to join, is there anything that could be done to lower the amount? Telling everyone to read the first page ususally doesn't help much.

Its always a smart idea to backup your wallet.dat.

I updated it the following way on Windows
1) Made a backup out of the running wallet using the build in "backup" option

5) Started it and verified that it display the correct version.

The 1440 update means, that the required confirmations for staking increases to 1440 (was 300).

Therefore, more PoW blocks are generated and you get more coins mining

hello how to see if my wallet has been update ? will i need to delete the old data in my roaming and save just wallet.dat OR just open the files after i download it ?

I failed to join the 9th because it ended very quickly even though it has more number of participants than the last airdrop. 4 minutes had already passed when I got to the site and it was already closed. This just means that more and more are getting to know AltCom which is good for our community.

You have to be quick, but 4 minutes is not that fast, you should be able to join. But if there are many newcomers, it could be faster than that.
