You could be right but I' first started mining when Dogecoin launched and I've never come across a pool that runs a system like that.

Well like I was saying. I dont know how it works with rounds and shares and hash when it comes to a coin that needs 360 confirms.

It may well be wasting your hash if you buy nicehash.

Lets think of it as you need 360 blocks to confirm.

You put 200kh on and mine for 6 hours then stop.

It may be that you have to keep mining right untill them blocks start being payed because of the round system.

I dont know but if that is the case nicehash will just be a waste of cash and that is win win for all mining the coin.

However as I stated I and others are missing payouts from this pool.

A new mining pool is on its way. Hes just having one or two problems with the daemon.

He is wanting to get it up and stay up. So its not up and down. The pool will be 100% transparent. You will be able to see everything from est earnings, shares sent and how much you are earning and been payed.

I myself think that transparent mining is needed when you have to wait 360 blocks to be payed. Its a long long time. Once it is up Swanseahost will post links no doubt

Absolutely. The Dev team have been fantastic. They've been answering the same questions again and again, because people are too lazy to read the ANN for themselves and they're still doing everything they can to help miners who are having problems.
 

Agreed. The coin is hard to mine and worth a lot more than it's currently trading for but that difficulty just makes it even more frustrating to have a dodgy pool operator stealing coins from miners.

Yes I to have to say there is something not right about this pool.

I started mining it from the word go. I was the 1st miner on the pool to find a block. At the point the pool 1st went down I should have been payed for the next 200+ blocks. I was payed for about 9 of them.

The pool is not the best. But others will come. A friend of mine is working on a new pool. I hope to see it up some time today.

Other pools will be put up in time.

The coin is doing very well indeed to say it has not been out a week.

But all must remember that the Dev team have nothing to do with the running of any pools. They only work on the wallet and daemon so it is no good kicking off at the dev team because somone is putting 200kh on a pool.

However I my self dont know how it works with the pay outs when it takes 360 confirms for a block.

Is it that the website will remember how much hash was put on that block after 361 blocks have passed?
Or is it that the website pays for the block at the time?

With the comment from someone who put 20kh on the pool I can only take it that the amount of hash needs to be constant for 360 blocks or you are just wasting your hash power. Because once your 20kh of nice hash has been used you are not getting payed for the work you did.

Lol I dont know but it may well be a system that keeps NH miners away if they dont get payed for the hash they have done.

Looking at the exchange I have to sit back and say when a coin is hard to get why would you put it on there for pennys? There is allways one dumb ass in 10

I was mining hodlcoin in the past and now I switched mining to this project because hodlcoin seems to be dead and I like the people/team/community which are moving this new coin forward!

I also agree that this coin must stay minable with common PCs to make a difference to most other coins. I also agree that people with 200KH destroy this idea. So in my opinion we have to find a way to block this activities. I have no technical background about banning/blocking, but I have an idea which I don't know if it would be realizable:

In my opinion we don't need external mining pools. Perhaps there is a way to block external mining pools completely. But then we have problem of "hopelessness solo ming" described by DisasterFaster. But would there be not a possibility to change the solo mining in the wallet to type of "internal pool mining"? I mean all people use the wallet and can activate mining. If a block is found the earning will be divided to all people which are mining with the wallet, depending on their hash rate. Then it is fair to every miner to get earning depending on his hashrate. Also It should be possible to block all hashrates obove for example 2KH.

Don't know if this would be practicable and realizable and if other users like such an idea.

There's 3 miners with about 200KH on the pool.

They are picking up close to 60,000 coins a day.

To put this in perspective, I've got a 8700k (6 core) , for which I get about 800-900h (about 200 coins a day).

Anyone with a cheaper CPU is just spinning their wheels, and I feel this is going to kill your coin pretty quickly.

In a few hours, those mega miners with either purchased or botnet hash are going to dump those 60,000 coins on the exchange, and your coin is going to be worth 1 Sat

I am totally a newbie at mining so I need your help. Will mining with my computer with processor of AMD A8-7600 Radeon R7, 10 compute Core 4C +6G 3.10 GHz profitable?

As I mentioned before, listen=0 allows my machine to generate without crashing out because of something I haven't been bothered looking into yet and replace the miningaddress with your own wallet receiving address, assuming you've installed a QT version of the wallet on Windoze or some other OS.

Deposit works excelent. I have tried different dates and it seems to add up just as it´s supposed to

Its ultra easy, just take one of you addys you have in your wallet. Otherwise, create a new addy. File->Recieving addresses. create new, label it, copy addy and deposit into it

Tell me how you can transfer coins to the deposit. What is the address for this? Where can I create an address for a deposit?

Can anyone give a command line startup for minerd (optiminer) to mine ROIcoin under linux?

I can git clone, build, make etc no problems but am not sure what the command is to mine ROIcoin with optiminer.  

Also, what's the command line to mine with the compiled wallet in linux? I can get ROIcoind compiled and runs ok but only looks like it reads blocks etc if I include the options in the command line (looks like it's not reading from ROIcoin.conf (which is located in ~/.ROIcoin/ and is readable from the 'current user' (i.e. who I'm logged in as on my linux machine))).

EDIT: I've read the posts showing how to mine with a pool.  Obviously cannot use minerd (sorry) as the compiled binary is hodlminer (facepalm).  However am trying solo mining (not pool mining) so I'll need to experiment with starting the ROIcoin wallet via CLI first and see if it's as simple as -o http://127.0.0.1:3377... oh and the command in ubuntu (linux whatever) for ROIcond to mine is:


*replace the -miningaddress=[etc] with your own receive address from your wallet or you'll be mining for me...which is ok but probably not what you want.

I use -listen=0 because if I don't then the daemon stops and the debug file tells me it cannot listed at 0.0.0.0:3377.

Sorry but that compile is not yet completed but working on having it done soon.

If anyone would like to compile the binary for MAC I am happy to pay bounty on that
