Recently? Invisibel said that he would put in his (TIPS) version of the mixing service if Artos doesn't return.  I also know that before that there were other people chiming in as well.

I believe R-T-B is also working on StableCoin mixing service.

He did say that, but he also said it would take a while (ie month(s)).

I haven't given up either. I believe in what I see.

Artos is still occasionally checking in. He doesn't respond, but he told us he would be unable to respond, and that he was specifically only working on the coin.

If he can't work on it anymore, he'll call for another dev team. He invited us to compete with him, in fact.

Hi. Id just like to clear up some of what you mentioned. Ive been following Sbc daily since December and used to have a very large amount in my holdings.

Yes Artos occasionally checks in, but once in 3 weeks is not nearly enough. And the fact that he checks but doesnt address community concerns speaks volumes.

He did not say he wouldnt be able to respond, in fact he said the exact opposite in his "return post". He said that he will be actively engaged with the community providing constant updates. This has not happened. The only time he said he wouldnt be around was during the Christmas holidays. As you can see this is not consistent with an active dev who believes in his project.

He did not say he was working specifically on this coin. He made it quite clear that he is busy with his "day to day life" and is working on Sbc when he can. This of course suggests that he is was working on it as a side project.

He will not call for another dev team, what he said is that if someone else wants to try to implement a mixing service service before him to "go ahead and try". He would not be assisting them.

The reason I took the time to write this is for people who perhaps dont have to much experience in cryptos and are still holding out hope. All signs are pointing to Sbc being dead. It might be time to consider researching other coins. Even if the mixing service will be implemented one day, there will always be a shadow having over artos. He can fix this by setting up a dev team that would inject new energy into the project, but I have my own opinion whether he would ever do that.

This being said, you are of course going to do what you think is best, but I think a clarification was necessary.

Edit: To give a general assessment as to where Sbc stands, consider this. There is already >10 million coins mined. Even though Fedora's mixing service is probably not as good as Artos' proposal, when Sbc implements it it will no longer be unique, which matters in this fast moving market. Zerocoin/cash is just around the corner and has a lot of hype around it.

Sorry guys, im just as disappointed as everyone else.

Do what you think you must.  As I said, I haven't given up yet.

Guys/gals... thinking about shutting down the block explorer @ sbc.blockexplorer.io.

I'm not alone in thinking @artos has singlehandedly birthed and doomed this coin. The best hope for this coin is also its worst enemy.

Having mined LTC and a select few other 'alt coins' for years, I had high hopes for this coin -- even following the inexplicable disappearance and return of @artos from God knows where...

The market value of the coin has dropped many fold and the perceived value has hit rock bottom. Many of us stuck with the coin through the hard times due to the announcement of a ground-breaking privacy angle (mixing service) that would help set the coin apart from the sea of virtual copy-coins.

I've given up hope. Where is @artos? Where is the plan? Where is the mixing service? I guess it doesn't matter because "we've" been beaten to the punch.

Yeah i really hope this gets pulled off. I mean without word from Artos, its very hard to get anywhere with the mixing service, time will tell i guess

Well Catswold, I'm with you.  I still think something will come of it as well.  Also, the community is as important for a coin to succeed as the developer is.

I don't know, maybe I'll be the guy turning out the lights, but I haven't completely given up on artos, yet.  I'll only note that, for all the hoopla and crowing, the TIPS mixing service remains not ready for prime-time.  It appears that in execution, the principle is not as simple as in theory.

Artos seemed quite confident that it was a relatively simple thing to do, yet here we are still awaiting word of a beta, and invisibel's system is still on IRC and they still appear to be stumbling around in the dark on that forum thread.

I see no reason to sell out now, and if the price drops more, I may pick up a few k more.  Even if TIPS works out, I'm not convinced that an SBC with a mixing service won't remain viable.

I'd like to point out that if Artos doesn't return, we have developers who have already volunteered to step up and further development of the coin.

Really? Who? I haven't seen anybody post that.
