There is little said about the responsibilities of holding a coin, and one of them is checking the news/forums/twitter/stuff regularly  Grin

Buying some coins doesn't mean you just throw them in cold storage and leave them there.I check every available source about that coin, almost everyday, to specifically avoid any trouble that can pe caused by the following scenarios:

-unexpected swap
-hack
-hard fork
-compromised
-revealed to be a scam
-devs running away with the money
-thermonuclear war
-second coming of jesus on earth and saying "this coin will dump soon"

For example, what happened with shadowcash, i could've still have them unknowingly and after 15 april (i think) they would be worthless if i didn't check for news.

WOW~~!!the price of SHIFT goes well,  but i sold my shift @1200sat . my  heart hurt  Cry

That's better than what I did. I put my coins in a paper wallet and my coins were stolen during the hard fork.

How can they be stolen during the hard fork?

I think he probably was too late for swapping the coins?

Yeah correct, he's been butt hurt for months, as his bag was BIG, now every time he looks at the charts he cries.

Also who dumps at 6k sats is crying too Tongue

Hey guys, just found out about Shift.

All looks very promising and looking forward to the release of Phantom.

To show my support I've purchased 17000 coins.

I have 3 GTX 1080's sitting idle at home, if i were to mine this what sort of return would i be looking at per card per 24 hour period?

Thanks,

*Edit, just been doing some more reading. Seems like shift can no longer be mined since it switched algo?
Yes, there is no more mining, but you can set up a delegate with 1000 shift and receive a return on that. It is kind of like a masternode.

How would i go about doing this if you dont mind me asking?

Please have a look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJZLGs-ra-w&t

First you have to get used to using the wallet. Then you will need to setup a VPS (here is a great guide: https://shiftnrg.nl/), you need to run your own SHIFT node and keeping up to date regularely and you need to ask for votes in order to be able to enter to the 101 active delegates. You need to be an active delegate to be able to forge.

Enjoy Smiley
Hehe, thats my video and now i'm asking questions. Smiley
Once the VPS is set up, how do you actually get the wallet on there?

The wallet.shiftnrg.org wallet has been down for the past hour - the page loads (albeit very slowly) but the websocket keeps getting closed before being able to make any transactions. It's more than a bit irritating given that it's the only mean of accessing funds in my wallet...

Sorry about that, I think Dev Team will give soon an announcement because we were under a DDoS attack, blockchain is good and all funds are safe don't worry. Bittrex added another layer of security locking their wallet, but all is OK now and Bittrex withdraws are back to normal.

hi i have some coins in my old gshift, how can i swap this coins from de old dagger chain Smiley

You can get a faster reply on ryver https://shiftnrg.ryver.com/application/signup/members/Q3vvIv5azjNuFKl, but I think it's not anymore possible to swap your coins.

Also, why is bittrexs SHIFT wallet still under maintenance?
