This evening around 10/11pm UTC Matthew Langdon one of the Sterlingcoin developers will be posting.

This will outline the work we have completed and the work we are doing prior to launch.

There is a lot, so be prepared to have a lot to look over and read.

Also I cannot stress enough how important the input from the community is in the coming weeks, like I said previously, nothing is set in stone.

How can UK accept this coin when HMRC realise its impact. If we buy these coins for trade why not use bitcoin instead? Limiting it to the UK market wont help it expand? This is just like Irishcoin, it never took off. If I buy this coin the donkey below would give you an idea about what he thinks.

With Sterlingcoin we are not limiting it to the UK market, it is targeted at the UK market.

We already have a merchant on board and are looking to add more prior to the wallets even being released.

Sterlingcoin is attending and giving a talk at the next Bitcoin Brighton meet up.

In terms of the HMRC you can find information on tax rulings here - http://sterlingcoin.org.uk/uk-tax-rulings/

okay but the donkey never lies.

Whatever, a spelling-checker would have prevented the error. Feel free to apply that same correction to the misspelling where it appears in the javascript “slide” presentation and above, in the OP.

You have a fair amount of text wrangling to do in order to e.g., address nonsensical statements such as “The Cryptocurrency of the UK & British Isles” by narrowing the scope of the referenced geopolitical boundaries to what's actually covered by Google's API.

Perhaps another example might help get across my point about support from a copywriter: “The price of Sterlingcoin is determined by supply & demand, usability, trading and mining” - that should be either “usage” or just “use”, not “usability”.

Cheers

Graham

Thank you for your attention to detail as you were looking through our website and informing us of the error.

You obviously have an interest in the coin as you are a UK resident yourself. If you have any suggestions you can come to IRC and we can chat without a 320 second barrier.

You can't say that it should be use or usage. Usability actually sums it up because the aim is for people to use the coin, but also describes the friendly nature and the ease it can be used with. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usability

In response to your comment about me checking my spelling I believe that is actually a typo and I have amended my spelling, without a spell checker Wink

“Sterlingcoin is a completely fair, transparent and a highly secure form of currency for all needs.” Provide some support for your claim of fairness.

To elaborate on the fairness of Sterlingcoin, and in fact all cryptographic currencies:

A limited supply of money would allow for a better economy; where ‘better’ means ‘fairer’, more stable and devoid of government intervention.

OK to clarify with the community and to stop people picking us up on the website having links that don't work and sections that seem incomplete.

We are in pre-launch. We are still working on the site and back-end systems prior to launch on the 20th of September.

You will see the website progress and services become active prior to the 20th.

The pre-launch was done to first secure the name as we have been working for months and are getting worried another group will release under this name.

Secondly, to listen to the community and any suggestions for the site, don't hold back, we are here to listen to you.

In terms of services, website and any other aspect to Sterlingcoin, nothing is set in stone until the 20th.

That's exactly as I expected but it needs to be clearly communicated on the web site.

Apart from the missing contact info and privacy statements expected of UK web sites, more attention to the wording is required. A moment's reflection will inform you that “UK” is inadequate unless you do actually intend to exclude residents of Northern Ireland.

Statements that are usefully accurate must somewhere use the mouthful: "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".

Elsewhere, the statement “UK citizens receive fifty Sterlingcoin” is incorrect, the checks are for residence not citizenship.

There’s two of us here, we can manage a phone number each but only one postcode - do we get 50 each or will one application be rejected? This information should be readily available and easy to comprehend.

Minors are also citizens of the UK, if there's a lower age limit for this offer, that should be clearly communicated.

“Sterlingcoin is a completely fair, transparent and a highly secure form of currency for all needs.” Provide some support for your claim of fairness. Use a spelling checker.

The OP advertises “575,000 Sterlingcoin (90% of Instamine) for the Spacedrop”. At 50 per application that's a grand total of 11500 applications. This  limit should be very clearly advertised.

Will applications from UK residents receive priority over applications from people outside the UK?

Cheers

Graham

Thank you for your input, all has been noted and we can make amendments prior to the Spacedrop going live on the 20th of September.

We are adding statistics to the Spacedrop and Faucet for all to see and can display more in depth info on how the coins are distributed.

There also is no priority on entries, they get paid instantly.

In response to your comment about me checking my spelling I believe that is actually a typo and I have amended my spelling, without a spell checker Wink

Also the Spacedrop could actually supply coins to more than 11500 people as it randomly distributes between 1 and 50 Sterlingcoin to Non-UK residents.

Watching this with interest, great to see some altcoin activity in Brighton - will get something up on http://bitcoinbrighton.com/ . Flawless are doing great things with Bitcoin here, good to see them getting involved.

For some reason I get a message "Proxy access not allowed" when going to http://spacedrop.sterlingcoin.org.uk/ - any ideas? Running laetst Firefox.

Also is there any reward for a kid born on the launch day? ;-)

The airdrop website laconically advises that “Emails submitted will not be sold/shared for promotion/marketing purposes.” Can I recommend that you make it clear that also holds true for telephone numbers?

Also, I couldn't seem to find the clear statements about terms & conditions, rights and privacy that I'd expect to see, given the claims made.

Cheers

Graham

The telephone numbers are not in fact stored. These are simply verified to be UK numbers and nothing else, all done via an API.

Not a fan of X13 Sad

Yup X11 is far better then X13.

X13 is superior to SHA-256, Scrypt and Scrpyt-N in terms of power and heat and that's what truly matters.

All of the X11, X12, X13, X14, X15, X17 coins are good in that respect.

If you are referring to driver issues etc. with AMD cards inparticular then that is sad and unfortunate and our team will do its best to assist.
