We all just want the best for SLG. If SLG can be added to Poloniex, it will do this coin good and hopefully it's get more distributed. This coin may still be a hidden gem but soon this will be discovered by more and more people and price will go to the moon!

Steve, nice work with social media. Let everybody know SLG is still alive, growing and become a great coin.

Thank you kindly for the compliment and the quick recognition, Mrbee. As promised, I will continue to keep it fresh. Perhaps a tweet to polo is in order. On it. Wink

CryptoChainer has already proven to be valuable. Please join me, if you can, by donating to CryptoChainer to show our gratitude for the addition of Sterlingcoin to their service.

Hi guys, I have been recently introduced to SLG by BitcoinFX (How did I miss this coin before Huh)

I'm pleased to see a home grown UK coin, continued development, and reading back through the thread, polite and gentlemanly development team and community input.

I must say there were a few connection issues when I first downloaded the wallet, but BitcoinFX pointed me toward the bootstrap at cryptochainer http://cryptochainer.com/dir/

Using the bootstrap along with the included peers.dat file got me synced and connected in no time.

Great stuff!

Killiz

Welcome aboard and it is a pleasure to have you here, Killz. Also, thank you to BitcoinFX for introducing you and assisting you. It is a joy to see the SLG community continue to grow and helpfully functioning. I thank all Sterlingcoiners for the continued support and for spreading the word.

Cheers!

Welcome aboard, Killiz!   Grin

It's always good to see that our community is steadily growing in numbers; I'm sure you will be a valuable addition, especially if you appreciate polite and gentlemanly conduct.   Kiss

I'm really glad you got synced quickly using Cryptochainer; this is a very recent addition to the SLG system and, as far as I am aware, you are the first person to use it (for SLG, I mean).

There's more to come!!

I requested Cryptochainer to add SLG to their site as well.

I have just received confirmation that this has now been done.

So now the SLG community has another resource to enjoy!!   Grin

Sterling Sentinel

This is yet another great addition Sterling Sentinel, nice one! This will be great for people in need of a bootstrap. Myself, the rest of the team, and the community appreciate all your effort and thank you for your work.

Community members like yourself are one of Sterlingcoin's greatest resources and the reason why this coin will always be strong.

Thank you for the kind words CryptoCanary; I'll keep on trying to do my best for SLG (as I am sure will you).

I agree this coin will always be strong, but if we are to truly build the Sterlingcoin economy that we all want to see and participate in then it really is up to the community to pitch in.  Three devs just can't do it on their own.

Hats off to MrBee for his Poloniex initiative; I'll get my form sent in asap.

How is the fundraising going for the Cryptopia tip-slot?

Only at 50k DOT of the needed 500k DOT. I received my electric bill and Shocked had to turn the scrypt asic off. Now that it is getting much colder, I can justify firing up this space heater more often. I will dust it off. Unfortunately, the difficulty looks to be about the same as it was and does not reflect the decreased price that is ~15 sat per DOT down from ~30 sat the last time we spoke of this topic.

Please see this post to donate by DOT, BTC, or hashes. Please notify me if you opt for the BTC donation method as the mentioned BTC address is of my Cryptopia wallet and I would not be alerted to start watching the market and buying DOT on the low on your behalf.

Thank you in advance for any contributions as we try to gain tipping on Cryptopia for Sterlingcoin.

Now 73k DOT. Slow but steady. Wink

Cryptopia tipping kitty update: Now at 100k DOT of the needed 500k DOT.

SLG price is recovering at bittrex and network growing, good job team SLG!
When can we expect some development? How about more PR via twitter and facebook or other social media? Let everybody know this coin still has potential!

I have send a request to poloniex to add SLG to their exchange. Let us all send poloniex a request to add this great coin.

Yes, some nice recovery indeed, Mrbee! That is a pleasant sight! But surely the community, and not the team alone, deserves a lot of the credit this time. Wink I refer to my previous statement to Sterling Sentinel and my observation of our strong community and, therefor and subsequently, our very strong coin. Again, the team thanks you all.

As far as your development question, there is some of our old services we had that could be restored with no additional cost, only time. I believe the web store and forum could be restored given our present hosting arrangement. Time permitting. It is no secret the team has taken on other projects to generate income. Income we do use to help Sterlingcoin. For example, we do now have again A hosting arrangement thanks to other work, both in and out of crypto. We also setup Sterlingcoin nodes on our other project's servers to keep the network strong. These projects do, both directly and indirectly, help Sterlingcoin in many ways. That said, I feel it is important to stress, none of these projects are in competition with Sterlingcoin and never were. Please do not misinterpret our work on other projects as a lack of interest or commitment to Sterlingcoin. All three of us still refer to Sterlingcoin as, "our gem". Smiley

As far as social media, I will breath some life into that this evening and get back into the habit of keeping it fresh. Please "like", "retweet", and "share".

Lastly, thank you for sounding the "Polo! Charge!" trumpet. Wink I will submit another request right now also. I ask you all do the same using this form.

At my request Coinwallet has added SLG to its list of supported coins.

I have no reason to suppose that Coinwallet is in any way superior to Staisybit, but another option is never a bad thing.

Besides, I believe in the benefits of competition!

They have unfortunately, spelt it Stirlingcoin; I will try to get that amended.

Great news. I thank you for sharing it and requesting the addition in the first place.

I see they have corrected the spelling. Very good. Smiley

Sterlingcoin nodes and seed nodes listed in the OP are outdated. It seems that a fresh client will not sync without the user creating a sterlingcoin.conf

Current windows wallets do not recognize :port function for addnode= in the sterlingcoin.conf , so addnodes should be IP only, as follows;

sterlingcoin.conf (basic for client nodes)

Code:
listen=1
addnode=74.5.137.87
addnode=164.132.55.71
addnode=188.166.152.255
addnode=128.199.92.169
addnode=108.61.177.110
addnode=108.61.198.207
addnode=108.61.179.216
addnode=209.222.30.241

These nodes would appear to have static IPs.

Sterlingcoin network is growing again. This can be one of the good coins to outlast the crypto-warz / alt. stagnation.  Cheesy

Hi all

is there an optimum block size for staking?

Hi pescadorloco69.

Age is more important than size of the blocks for the staking amount. You could send all the coins to one address to increase the size but, the trade off of losing all the acquired age you might already have is a decision you will have to make. I know not of an optimal size but only that larger is better but, again, less important than age.

Unless you just recently acquired your Sterlingcoin, your best bet might be to retain your age.  That said, I do not know the present size you are talking about. If you have extremely many of small sizes, you will want to consider that also.

Mind you that all of this only plays into the frequency of payments. More age and to a lesser degree more size, and subsequently weight, only means you will get payments more frequently. But the payments, frequent or not, will always total 5.5 % annual.

I hope that helps you reach a decision pescadorloco69.

Thanks for the advice I will leave it as it is Smiley
