Hi,
I do like Doge because it has a lot of community support and it is a fun coin. When planning a business with crypto, I think it is important to first include one of the major coins, and then think about others.
SmartCoin is still on the table for me as well, which has an advantage of being able to make changes to the code more easily, since less consensus has to be obtained than with a major coin.
In the past year I have gone from working just by myself to having about 4-6 collaborators and assistants. We can now produce the Trezor type of hardware wallet from scratch, but there is also the work of making a different backend system still ahead. I'm not sure how much this company is related to the SmartCoin (SMC) project that is on this thread, since it's more private and separate, but I do have the intent to experiment with, develop, add hardware wallet support and other services for SMC, rather than releasing a brand new token.
Overall I think that SmartCoin has a pretty good standing and outlook - no premine/instant generation shenanigans, has been around for a while, hashrate has grown exponentially over the past year, market cap also increased X10 or so, even with the recent drop in the alt space.

The team doesn't seem to care about the project. They haven't been updated for a long time, and it's a difficult project to continue.

Hello there. Can anyone tell me what token rate will be on the ICO?
There is no ICO for SmartCoin (SMC). It's an old chain from 2014 that is similar to Litecoin.

They have a horrible record of letting wallets stay in maintenance for months.

I just bought a huge position on Yobit, to find that I cannot transfer my SMART coins out of the exchange. Anyone have the same issue and/or know when this will get resolved?

Hey, I am also an investor in SMC, in addition to which I've also done work on the client and have continued to host the site and block explorer.
I'm currently in the process of hiring a full time programmer or two to work on SMC, so it is reasonable to expect further advancement of the project.
